So cool! Very interesting interpretation of the theme!

I really like the minimalist art style, it really suits the game. The controls are also simple enough to get it very quickly. Really satisfying to play around!

I did find you can sorta cheese it if you trace the layout of the house instead of making a path, but maybe that's just my style of play haha. Maybe it would be more challenging if you only had a certain amount of ink to use? Still, it's a minor observation.

Great writing also! Entertaining but not annoying.

Congrats! Really well executed!

Cool idea! And the descriptions are creative.

It does get a tad repetitive after a while, and the controls are not explained so you do have to just guess. But they're pretty standard so it's not too bad.

Congrats!

I wasn't able to play it, I believe because of Godot not liking Firefox for some reason. And that's a SHAME! Because the art looks so well made and the atmosphere and subject matter is right up my alley. If you're able to add a download option for Linux I might try it later!

In any case, good job!

Very cute art!

I was not very good at the game though, the hunger bar decreased very rapidly and I wasn't able to get very far. But the game is still very cool! I think the "inventory management" aspect of it is fun.

Congrats!

Thank you so much! The tooltip should appear whenever you hover over the button, it takes about 2 seconds to appear. That has been a common point so I may update the game to change once voting is over.

Thanks for playing!

Very fun! The controls are simple but seeing the automation and speed of the elves go up is very entertaining. I maxed out every stat!

Very well made, congrats!

Hey, we had similar ideas!

Actually, I think you were more creative than me, very cool spin on the theme! Congrats!

I did have one issue though, I think this has something to do with me using Firefox, but the game's textures would not load.

Still, you did very well! Good job!

Really cool!

I had no issues using controller on Firefox, but I was still bat at the game haha. Could not get past the eye that shoots a lot of projectiles. I tried killing it but it took a lot of hits and I kept dying. Eventually I gave up, but I still had a lot of fun! You can tell the project is very competently made.

Good job!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Absolutely adorable!

Great art style and very tight controls! Snappy and responsive, very fun do jump across many sequential gaps. Also, surprising amount of levels for a jam submission. This could have been a full game!

Maybe my only suggestions would be that you get different gifts each level? So instead of 10 purses, you grab maybe a purse, a hat, glasses, and so on. But I know that would have been a lot of extra art, so it's not a bad thing.

Great job! Congrats!

As others have pointed out, there is a bug when interacting with the graves, as they give a black screen. That is a shame, because the art is very pretty! It seems very well made. If you are able to fix it, I think there is a lot of potential! Sorry.

So fun! And surprisingly challenging!

The art style is absolutely perfect, very simple and stylized but very consistent even in the UI. Really good job, congrats! The waves felt very fair, not too hard and not too easy, even with the help of the other animals.

One very very minor point in the controls if that it didn't feel intuitive to have to press space to take the food from the cardinal. Everytime  I'd try to get it with my tongue and then I'd go "oh yeah, it's space". But that's a very small thing and I still completed the game.

Very well made, good job!

Thank you!

Yeah I did not have much time to balance things, so getting into stalemates is unfortunately common. I tried to counteract it a bit by making it so the enemy cannot play the same weapon certain number of turns, and gets another weapon so there's a chance you can steal it from them. It's not perfect, and definitely something that should be tweaked. But I'm glad you had fun!

Thank you so much for playing!

Thank you so much!

Honestly I want back and forth during development if the swap move should cost a whole turn or not, and in the end I'm still not sure. Thank you for the feedback!

There is a way to see the weapon info if you hover over its name in the button, but I also originally wanted to make it so you could hover over the weapon itself to see its description. Ah well, so it goes I suppose haha.

Thanks for playing!

Really fun!

Very Celeste-like, in that it's a platforming game I'm not good at haha.

Seriously though, really well executed! The art is simple and clean, the controls are very responsive (if a tad fast for me). Very well rounded game, congrats!

Good job and keep at it!

Really charming, stealing purses from grannies is one of my favorite activities.

The knees hurting mechanic was funny! But a bit easy to get around if you press the button repeatedly instead of holding it. Still, very fun!

I had a great time escaping the police! Congrats on the game!

Really cool concept! Very well executed.

I like the tone and atmosphere of the game, and the names of the robots you encounter. I got an "award" winning janitor, and that idea is so funny to me. Also a kind mother with the widest reddest face I've ever seen. 10/10.

Could have done with some background music though? But that's very minor and secondary to the experience.

Very well made! Very polished! Congrats!

Really well done!

The art and atmosphere is very polished, really gives a good feeling. It's satisfying to complete a heist and sell an item for good money. Really good game feel!

I did get a bit overwhelmed the further I went, with a lot of requests at once and not enough items to sell, but that's probably me just being bad at the game haha. Time was going fast and I didn't have the time to appreciate all the art and flavor text.

There was only one bug I believe I may have encountered, where a new hireling with better stats showed up and I had the money to hire them, but for some reason could not click the button, and I lost them.

Still, the overall experience was very good. Game loop was very clear, gameplay very satisfying. Very well made game! Great job!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the sound design, that is one of my weaker areas where frankly I don't know what I'm doing half the time. Thank you so much for playing!

Hah! The mace probably exploded, it has a chance to do that.

Thank you so much! Currently, the enemy decided their action on their turn, so couldn't add  indicators for their intentions, but that shouldn't be that hard of a change to implement. It would make for some more strategic gameplay, rather than just chance based.

Thanks for playing!

Absolutely adorable!

I love the art style and design of the knight and skeletons. And very  interesting mechanic too! I found the game to be a bit hard for me, so I wasn't able to get very far, but I did like how the mechanics were introduced very gradually, making the player get used to them before changing and mixing them. Good game design.

Great job!

Thank you so much! And that's a really fun idea, I love games with journals like that, it's a really engaging mechanic. I didn't have much time in the end, so I wouldn't have been able to implement that if I tried, but I'm glad you were able to enjoy it haha. Thanks for playing!

You should be! Great job!

Thanks for playing!

Very cute!

I love the art style and the idea is fun. Sometimes enemies would pool around each other so navigating became a bit difficult, but the game was still overall really fun!

Great job!

That's very kind! Thank you for playing!

Thank you! Yeah that does seem to be a common point. You actually can get a description of the weapon you are holding if you hover over its name in the button, but I didn't make that very clear unfortunately. Thanks for playing!

Thank you! You can see a description of the weapons when you hover over their name, in the button.  I think I should have made that clearer. Some weapons (like the tongue) don't have any special effects,  they just do damage. Others can do other things though.

Thank you for playing!

Oh for a first game this is very good, don't worry! I'm only joking about the 6 7 on the blackboard of course, ya'll did great! Looking forward to seeing more things from you!

Good job!

The screen is a tad small I feel, but the game is still enjoyable. I got caught a couple of times, maybe I'm just bad at the game haha.

Keep at it!

Thank you so much!

I feel like my masterpieces were deserving of much higher praise, game, but alright.

Joking aside, really fun game! Very well executed. It wasn't very clear to me how accurate I needed to be in my forgeries, though. When I tried being very accurate I got a low score, but when I just threw whatever at the screen I went pretty well, so who knows!

Still, the game is very well made and has a very cool mechanic that makes it very unique among the other submissions!

Congrats! Very good job.

I followed the development of the game through the Discord, really impressive that a game like this was made in only 9 days. Especially with custom assets! Very impressive, good job!

I'm sad to say I could not play it in its entirety because it ran quite poorly on my Linux laptop, but that's probably my own fault, as it is a bit old haha.

In any case, the game does look gorgeous and looks very interesting! And it slightly twists the theme in a way that is quite unique from the other games I played in the jam so far.

Great job everyone! Keep at it!

Thank you so much! Thanks for playing!

So cute!

Very well made graphics, and cool idea! A bit hard to intuit the movement of the enemies, so it relies a bit on trial and error, but still very enjoyable.

Congrats ya'll! Hope you enjoyed using Godot!

Haha very funny premise, even if a bit morbid.

Really fun and good art as well! I quite like it!

Good job! Keep at it!

Really good!

Keeps your eyes glued to the screen, very well designed. The art is also really good, simple and stylish. Nothing feels out of place, it's very consistent and, as someone else said, very diegetic.

It was very chaotic by the last level, but I still managed to beat it! Very short and sweet, doesn't feel impossibly punishing. Oh and the sound design was also really good! Very chill but still attention grabbing.

Great job ya'll! One of my favorites from the jam!

Thank you! I tried making the enemy and weapon variety big enough to cover a few runs at least + with the rare items having different stats, which (I hope) adds replayability. Thanks for playing!

Yeah, I believe you have to use a custom font for that, which is pretty annoying... But it didn't detract from the rest of the experience! Good job on the game!

Very fun! The combat was very satisfying!

I am not sure this was intended but the bullets were being rendered as bright magenta, like missing textures?

In any case, I had fun blasting the enemies! Good job!
