I can't test right now because I no longer have a working computer, but I remember it was fairly easy to get working on my Steam Deck, only had to change a line in a file somewhere because the game kept freezing up after a bit of playing.

So it's certainly possible to play this on Linux, maybe you could keep trying?

No clue if the dev fixed it in the 2023 patches, (been quite a while since I last played), but I remember changing this to fix the freezing.
