I’m unsure how Linux treats it when it tries to start.

I didn’t expect it to work, but I figured I’d try anyway. Looks like a cool game regardless.
I can't test right now because I no longer have a working computer, but I remember it was fairly easy to get working on my Steam Deck, only had to change a line in a file somewhere because the game kept freezing up after a bit of playing.
So it's certainly possible to play this on Linux, maybe you could keep trying?
Sorry if this reply isn't too helpful but I just thought it might be useful to know that it should be playable.
