How does the game fit the theme?
The game is about managing strange places. (as in places that serve strange/random food).

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I did most everything by myself. I used some AI and other people's art for inspiration, but everything in the final product was made by me.

How many people worked on the game?

This is an intriguing idea!  I like the sound of the mechanics you were planning on adding.  I think some positive / negative interactions between store combinations would add a little more strategy.  I'm not sure if I cheated but it seemed like I just had to click "end day" a lot and I ended up with 10's of thousands of dollars.  But hey, that was a nice feeling too XD.

Well done!

Needs work! But I like the concept and I know a lot goes into trying to dev something on your own.

Recommendations

Gameplay:

  • Slow down the amount of customers. It was like a zombie horde with no end.
  • Reduce the initial amount of restraunt. It was a lot of information to try and balance all at once
  • Guide the player through the instructions. For a game like this, have the player click through the first encounter together.
  • It's possible the version of the game that was uploaded is bugged. The customers snake around the court in an endless loop, i press next day to get money, i buy the restraunt in the top right, i get more money, and then repeat. Based on your screenshots, i think the pace of the game was supposed to be slower. You should play the itch.io version and double check to make sure this version of the game was your intended experience. For example, I realized I didn't account for the built-in itch.io full screen option, so i disabled it during the 48 hour grace window so my game actually worked instead of an asset explosion.

Overall: Great job putting something together! This was my first jam and I know the experience can be stressful, but rewarding.

I made a lot of money, although I'm not sure how. I really do like where you're going with this.

The idea of the game is solid but needs more mechanics. I liked the customers that sprawled around the food court.

Could not understand how to play, seems like a neat idea!
