Nice take on Battleship. It still needs either a dig optimization mechanic or some kind of lose mechanic for digging in the wrong places (digs up bad guy, bomb, breaks on rock, etc). Also once the rotations start happening, you need something that scaffolds the user to that new mechanic, either tutorial or some kind of story (tornado or something). Also needs more levels, either manually, or invest in dynamic puzzle generator. Definitely has potential. Thanks for jamming!
I like this guessing game. it started as Battleship, turned single player battle ship, almost mind sweeper, then turned guessing game (find the __blank___) type of game. The core mechanic of using a grid was key, I am glad you were able to add that. Thanks for joining the jam! Nice little mini game.
I like deducing where the shapes must go! (Though in a lot of cases, I had to guess; I wonder how it would be if you never had to guess and could always deduce things. Maybe if the game gave you additional clues every time you got a guess correct, like Minesweeper.) It's also fun starting with a given square every time to start off with some momentum.

Thanks so much for the feed back! It was super fun jamming with everyone.
I have continued working on the game after the jam here: Treasure Hunt Post Game Jam Adding a lose mechanic and a level select screen.
I plan on continuing working on it for a bit to add more features (more tools, and levels) and better art (more critterfied).

Or, what if the treasure dynamically adjusted itself to force you to take the maximum amount of incorrect guesses!
I’ve continued working on the game here link
Haha! Fun, I had to play about four levels before I realized that there was a clue for where the treasure is hidden.
