hello, Fellow overseers, it is my understanding we've all had a good new years? I know I have :] it's been quite some time since I posted the updates into this thread, longer still since I had ran this campaign, luckily, I've got an update from this week's game for all of you.

SESSION 16.
the session began on the surface of some random ice planet, where after Fox gets brought back from nowhere, and wandering through a blizzard for a bit, they end up in: THE ELEVATOR ROOM THEY STARTED THE CAMPAIGN IN[except this time it isn't a tetanus vector] and, after fucking with the unnecessarily complicated mineshaft Elevator control panel[who the FUUUUUCK designs an evevator door where the doors are controlled electrically with a DIAL. Those things were moving like TEETH.] also, do you remember the oppressive darkness of the elevator back then? Of course you don't, that was when the updates were all bullet points and detail was sort of an after-thought. well, it's back, mostly to hide that instead of this place being made of MEAT this time. Which isn't actually all that out of the ordinary anymore actually. But it is different here in fairness, symbolism. Also Eve's mental stability is NOT being helped by Child-Lilith BEING THERE. which is fine because she gets deleted from reality a few minutes later. anyway, you thought I was going to remix PR-A for them? Ok you know me quite will, I admit, but no. We're on the train! yes, that one, from the actual game. complete with a teenage Ariane, and THE GOLD KEY CARD!!!!! FINALLY! now it's time to put this in here and- why is there so much ammo in here. and a save station. Oh no. We're at the Mynah bossfight aren't we. we are. notable events include "Fox getting a new gun [the Anti Material Rifle, a weapon Similar to the Nitro Rifle, with the key distinction being a doubled mag capacity, the Rifle requiring a combat+speed roll to use, and an accuracy penalty because it is liable to knock the shooter prone, as demonstrated by Bird a few turns later] and using to Blow the Mynah's head SMOOTH OFF[that did not kill them.]", Eve having her worst combat rolls in a WHILE, more Bird Looney-toons moments as mentioned above, as well as probably the best BEST ROLL I HAVE EVER SEEN IN THIS CAMPAIGN TO DATE.

yeah no, safe to say that M.N.H.R is deader than ever! and that's where we cut the session off for the night. I guess y'all should know that this year we're looking to do shorter sessions overall, depends on the day, who knows.
I'll see all of you next week! hell, maybe I'll have a distinct weapon stat-bloc for the AMR by then. it's meant to be the nation's version of the Nitro rifle[Fox had the imperial version up until now.] I'm picturing something visually similar to a PTRS-41, do with that what you will.

PS. it doesn't really matter, but with that little ending bit on these updates, the German sentence is meant for Nation homies, and the one written in traditional Chinese is meant for the imperial comrades. mentioning this adds no further context to the campaign at large, I just felt like sharing.
hello Fellow overseers, today is unfortunate as I just realised that I accidentally deleted the folder I was keeping the text documents, but also a kinda good day because I managed to get a WiiU emulator working, specifically to play Splatoon 1, so I've been having some very fun nostalgia, which hopefully won't bleed into crossfade because I know for a fact that certain items and concepts from a certain cyber-punk setting have definitely infected my mind for future items or changes. regardless, welcome in for
SESSION 17
so, we start the session the way we usually start, with one of our players[bird] staring at a wall- oh... her face is missing. I see. moving on, as that revalation is quickly overshadowed by meeting the facility administrator, who first asks for Eve's orders, before mentioning the fact that it's quite odd that him and Fox look so alike. sure, they SOUND different, but like, they look nearly identical, you'd expect that Nation replikas and Imperial Replikas would have more differences than the colours of their armour, Polyethylene shells, and voicebanks. anyway while I was foreshadowing a story reveal, the facility administrator pushed Eve down the elevator, closely followed by a faceless bird Tackling Fox down the elevator shaft, and, after a two minute fall, they land on a pile of their own corpses. little fun note, Bird did canonically speaking die here, but her player didn't realise in the moment, do with that what you will. anyway, down on B[basement]-5, we get off to an ok continuation generally speaking. new arc and all, since I guess I'm wording it that way now[granted, we are getting pretty close to the mines and by extension, nowhere.] and you'll never guess who showed up again! that's right, the shopkeeper from a while ago, in fact from long enough ago that she missed Lilith EXPLODING. while here, fox gets a better look at the weapon upgrade from a while ago, Bird gets a random-mag for her pistol-
[item: misc-magazine. properties: for one magazine, adds random effects to any enemies shot, ranging from "enemy gains an extra turn" to "Enemy will attack it's allies on it's next turn". effects may also include ignoring armour, electrical rounds, incendiary rounds etc, at the game-master's discretion.]
-before fixing the paternoster, and cautiously heading down to floor B-6, finding a little pocket of the past. Fox and Eve go into what looks like a little security checkpoint, break an alarm so it'll blare nonstop, and run off. classic.... this group... I can't think of a name for this party actually. name suggestions welcome! anyway, eventually they went into the cleaning room hallway, and then had the hardest chellenge they've faced in god knows how long.

eventually getting through the door by making a awkward little hole in the barricade, making their way to the cleaning room and getting into the first bit of combat since the bossfight, allowing the A.M.R to show off two fun little features. it ignores cover, and you can hit two targets[provided you get the angles right so that your second target is BEHIND the first one] as demonstrated when fox got the angles right, turning a starling into vapor and killing the Eule behind them. Bird and Eve were able to get the last one, and we closed the session out with some memories notes, those being a technical overview of a staring unit, and a reminder about the broken lights on site.

PS. the AMR that fox has now was from an earlier idea of this whole campaign where I was planning to A. have far more moments in nowhere, and B. replace the og bossfights with some homebrew horrors of my own. One of which being a sniper "bossfight" that went unused because I couldn't think of any satisfying way to include or make engaging to fight. the replika herself never actually got developed into much, but the idea of the over-the top A.M.R stuck enough to make me keep it around as a potential weapon upgrade for a hypothetical party. I will admit though that this weapon is quite unbalanced, I understand that I'm putting it quite lightly, but still. I'll try to have the concept a bit more balanced by the next time I bring it up. here's where I'd joke about making unofficial DLC packs for Crossfade but I do not have NEARLY enough time or patience to devote to that. would be fun though
good afternoon Fellow overseers[and Eve's player] welcome to the weekly report for operation 3-point-turn[name pending], this session definitely ended up notably sillier than intended, including a lot of confusion from my poor environmental descriptions as we approach the campaign sesnsus. regardless, welcome in for
SESSION 18
so our session started exactly where we left off last week, the party now deciding to investigate the Storch dorms, seeing as they're directly connected to each other without even a door separating them[gross, think of all the mold from all the steam] finding rounds for some fancy handgun they haven't found yet[hope y'all don't mind, I'm replacing the revolver with an Deagle. I know it's flashy and ostentatious but I can't torture the Replikas all the time.], an angry note from a random STCR unit, a brick in someone's locker, a magazine for said magnum pistol, and a brick. checking the beds they find one bed with a hollowed out mattress filled with boxes of cigarettes, which Fox immediately takes because obviously he would let's be real here, but nothing else of value in the room, so, up to the EULR dorm finding a box full of mysterious colour unlike any- which is ignored, a broken cassette player, as well as its broken cassette, and, after Fox takes the entitative of cutting a bed open, out of curiosity, finds a whole fuck ton of weed.
[call-back to episode 6.5, but specifically to a joke that I couldn't fit into the standard Bullet-point format I was doing back then]
which the party then takes, also finding "an axe that is also a bong" before the party make their way over to the workshop hallway, getting into a small bit of combat before ending the session off for the week.

hi all! sorry that this one is so short in comparison to the other ones, my head has been spinning over the the last few days and it's been a bit hard for me to stay focussed recently, especially with all the projects I've had on deck, one of which is kinda related to this, and the other being only mildly related to this, in the way that it's mildly ttrpg related. if you squint and tilt your head a bit. point is, I'm sorry about the shortness of this update and slightly lacking in detail in certain sections, it feels a bit rude to say but they didn't really do much this week... regardless, I'll see you all next week! take care of yourselves! don't burn the candle on both ends like I usually end up doing!!
howdy fellow overseers, we're almost at a sort of impasse with this campaign as a whole, but I'm getting ahead of myself, welcome in for
SESSION 19
so, our session starts in the workshop hallway, the smell of rust present despite the lack of visible rust, the Paternoster being creaky and, one of those atomic shadows peeking from under the workshop door, which was originaly mistaken as soot, fox and Bird go into the workshop room, fox messes with the radio in the room[tunes it to 69.7] and gets rickrolled, meanwhile Eve finds classified information and chooses not to share YOU'LL REGRET THIS LATER. or not idk. before an interruption and the team starts looking through the boxes on the various shelves around the room for anything of value, which I will skim over here the same way we did in the session itself.
- a cut down shotgun with a busted barrel note: "stop letting the Protektors use those weird specialty shells, a star unit nearly died trying to clear a jam while using Frag shells"
- a box was full of defective flashbang grenades
- the lower receiver of a rifle. [problem: Auto-sear disconnect during operation]
- a portable radio with a hand sized hole in it, the only note on this one being "I did it on purpose, I'm not fixing it"
- literally just the fuse assembly of a grenade, more confusion about the shit grenades they've got [the thrown ones suck, sure, but just wait until one of these bots finds *the big one*]
- a box of warm scrap metal from al ill-fated attempt to modify an imperial LMG to use ammunition more commonly available to the nation. it was conceptualised by a man that had never used a gun in his life, and in fact, made bicycles by trade. it suffered several hundred misfires, failures to feed/eject, and by the end, the weapon ended up exploding, with the creator being sent to the depths of the mines to atone for making a gun that terrible
- a box of 8-track tapes, including one copy of some old game with an annoying dog in it.
- a box with some snacks in it see? I AM feeding them kinda.
before the party then enters the A.R.A.R dorm, immediately getting jumped by two corrupted A.R.A.R units, right as we took a little break because my cursor straight up disappeared for a few minutes.
oh btw Fox's player keeps brine-shrimp. this information means nothing to most of you reading this I imagine but you're getting it anyway.
combat went by quickly, as per usual, meaning it's time to search this room, finding two notes, and a stun-prod. , The first note being a technical overview on a A.R.A.R unit, and the other being a note that all god-fearing organics dread to read/hear, but I love making them hear.

overall: we learned a lot from each other today. genuinely, I'm not even fucking with y'all watching this recording back to check the bits I missed I've learned some terms and facts I had forgotten from last night, but in a more direct way, this session was quite fun, and I feel kinda comfortable in saying that despite the weird tech problems two of us had, that this week's session was fun for all parties involved.

good afternoon, Fellow overseers, I hope all of you have been well as I have not to be honest. my brain has been microwaved for the last few weeks for lack of a better term. I really ought to let personal projects breath and let out all the pressure. ah, listen to me ramble! anyway, welcome to
SESSION 20 [MILESTONE]
the session started in the ARAR dorms, the party almost goes down the hole in there before Fox decides to drop a flare down since the room is shrouded in darkness, leading to them setting a chair in the STAR dorms on fire, a fire that is soon smothered by Eve as the group moved down into the dorm itself, starting to search the room. the four bunkbeds seem unusually fine. nothing particularly out of the ordinary in the room. except for the bed that is clipping through the wall and vibrating rapidly. so naturally, one of the first things they did after looking through the lockers is to mess with the beds, more specifically, the one actively clipping into the wall, finding...…… a corpse, what else is new- WAIT THIS ONE'S HUMAN!!!!! not only that, it's seemingly the body of something that hasn't showed up since session 2. a soldier on a damned quest. in case the flowery words are a bit unclear, Lilith Itou. it was Lilith Itou. well, more accurately her lower half, as the ridiculous amount of friction caused by clipping through an object like that caused the lower half of Lilith as well as half of the bed to reverse friction weld off of their respective other halves, but hey, they got her PVK card[?] before leaving the room which was where the session ended because to be completely honest ALL OF US were fucked up at the moment, so this is the end of the main update, goodbye for now if that's all you're here for!

depends on a lot of factors tbh.] so here's kinda the situation.
point A: yes, despite my brain being awful with the vibes, we ARE continuing. I understand that the status of continuing most likely wasn't something on your mind, readers, but it was very much on mine, and honestly it might just be because I have had the metaphorical "check engine" light on for Cod knows how long.
point B: we are considering using a VTT but that's still just a maybe because of the whole thing with me wanting to keep the maps secret because reasons[THE MAPS I USE SHOW WHAT ITEMS AND ENEMIES ARE WHERE it'd spoil most of the fun if they knew] but with that does kinda bring up the idea of streaming it? that's another topic that requires more direct discussion with my players since the idea only came to me as I write this up[3:30AM, 8th of February]
point C: currently considering going to a bi-weekly session schedule for the sake of everyone's sanity. I'm still unsure of whether or not I'll actually move to that kind of timing for it. I'm still a bit hesitant.

“overseers, from a meta perspective, are stand-ins for anyone outside a ttrpg itself, a direct line of separation between the characters and the real people tied to them as well as any other observers applicable to the particular conversation (like the viewers of a streamed/recorded ttrpg session) but from a lore perspective, Overseers are the closest this setting could ever have to gods really, pure bioressonant energy, stuck between material reality and the void between multiverses. This kind of being can take any physical form, however looking at them for too long will often lead to persona degradation, especially with the more bioressonantly attuned replika types, gestalts are to be kept away from such entities as much as physically possible as even looking at the constructed forms of some of them can lead to actual madness. Some claim that the empress herself was in fact, an overseer herself. These claims are unfounded and grounds for reeducation.” To be a bit meta-referential or whatever they want to call it, a few good examples of characters that fit the “overseer” bill(even if not physically.) include characters like Half-Life’s “G-Man”, Toby Fox’s “Dr. W.D Gaster”, the King of the Pallid court himself, Tzeench from the warhammer lore(the only praise I’ll ever properly give that franchise.), the allied Mastercomputer from “I have no mouth and I must scream”, and weirdly enough, GlaDOS from Valve’s portal series. of course any “true overseer” would be, at least to any character in any setting, almost entirely unknowable in one way or another. The more eldritch the better I put GlaDOS in because she’s more of a LITERAL overseer to the player character rather than a stand in for a nebulous valve employee somehow directly guiding your play-throughs.
That’d be fun thought come to think of it, real-time test chamber creation and manipulation at the hands of another player or whatever.

Good afternoon fellow overseers, despite my internet being too shitty for calls I can still post these little lore-drops
NULL SESSION AGAIN: replika head-canons and lore.
As a minor update on the WiFi front(?): my connection’s been getting a bit better recently? That storm a bit ago fucked shit up BAD.
The original concept that lead to Replikas was created in the nation as method of preserving a ‘incorruptible ideal’ of the great revolutionary and her daughter should either of them become indisposed in any way. The technology was originally developed by the Nation but later given to ÆON for further development, development that was also covertly passed on to the Empire because a contract is a contract, and ÆON, even if it goes by a different name in the empire (and isn’t a government branch outside the nation) makes damn near everything provided it’s related to electricity in even the vaguest way possible. Flashlights? Yep. Toasters? Probably, yeah. Rotary canons? Yes. The hover tank that rotary canon will most likely be mounted on? Yes-er. Point being that a contract is a contract, of course they’d sell this to the empire too.
Generation-1 Replikas were massive, bulky engines of war, typically 4.5 meters tall, with a neural pattern taken from a tank driver who’s name has been removed from our records. Curiously enough, with early examples of the generation-1 units, they were consistently reminded that they were mechanical in nature, as an attempt to keep them in line. This did not work, it just made them annoyed. Early models of these units came equipped with an advanced sensor suite, allowing them vision along several spectrums including a incredibly simplified bioressonance module dubbed “the eye” designed to be a radiation free X-ray. This sensor array, while effective, was costly and deeply unnerving to both the replika themselves, and the soldiers working alongside them. Later models were built smaller and used either a basic mono-eye or a small, monocolor CRT display that allowed them to properly display emotion. This unit was dubbed the “Nashorn” ([1]“聖甲蟲” for the few imperials reading)
(also, I don’t want to be a bother here but, to save myself some energy I won’t be coming up with the acronyms and their meanings, I had enough of a headache with Osprey and I’m still pretty sure I fucked up the Deutsche on that document)
Generation-2 replikas were designed to fit a more “human” form factor,(coincidentally this is where the empire started with their replikas) although still notably inhuman they did still look far more human than their previous incarnations, which helped prevent persona degradation marginally. These were also the first models to directly employ organic components, as well as being the first to be built for specific roles, only three types were built. The first was a general purpose unit, who was based off the neural pattern of a steel worker(well, the nation’s one was.), whereas the general purpose unit from the Empire was based off the primal pattern of a small arms maintenance worker.
There was a combat unit that was based off a standard grunt from each side, and easily distinguished from the standard units by the additional armour plating. This unit was known for unreliability, as the neural patterns actually were mixed up during production, leading to several instances of these replikas fragging their superior officers and switching sides. A defect that was eventually corrected with later iterations.
Lastly there was a basic bioressonant unit, derived from the empire’s attempt attempts to mechanically awaken bioressonance. Yeah that went about as well as you expected but the technology did lead to further development on bioressonant machines. These units were designated as the “Luchs”, “tragen”, and the “Tigerin”. (For the Imperials in the audience, they were the [2]“猞猁”, [3]“狼”, and the [4]“美洲豹”)
The generation-3 replikas were the first and so far only kind to be named after Birds, starting with, as all of us already know, the [5]“吞”. Sorry, I meant the “Ara”, Ja, entschuldigung. These units were built as the backbone of both sides industrial workforces, being based off industrial workers from each side, more specifically a steel worker for the Nation and a construction worker in the case of the Empire, it was also here where they stopped doing different names for the National and Imperial variants, leading to the ARAR (MOD-0) units being the last to have localised designation
(designations prior were localised to better line up with common local superstitions and stories, EG; Bears being a symbol of loyalty in the Nation, but hence why the gen-2 combat units were named after them, meanwhile in the Empire, Wolves had that connotation instead, and the names were changed accordingly.)
the next replika types created, in direct sequential order I might add(excluding the previously mentioned Ara/吞)
Falke/鷸 patterned off: the great revolutionary herself[nation] and a bioressonance attuned military officer[empire]
Mynah/鷂 patterned off: a deep sea miner(Nation) orbital engineering specialist(Empire)
Star/椋鳥 patterned off: a riot control officer(Nation) and
Eule/貓頭鷹 patterned off: built off the pattern of Evelin Edelweiss, well known Balerina, and daughter of the leaders of a large arms manufacturer before the Notion’s government seized control of the private sector. The imperial units were based off a combat medic. The only details remaining of her being the initials “A.M”
Storch/鸛 patterned off: A military police officer that has remained unnamed(both)
Kolibri/蜂鳥 patterned off: intelligence officer(National) bioressonant pilot(Empire)
Elster/鵲 patterned off: reconstructed copy of the neural patterns of a soldier from Vineta
Adler/鷹 patterned off: military officers (remember what happened with the Tragen? Yeah it happened again. Intentionally this time.)
All of which were created as a response to one another in one way or another. As an example, the LSTR Units were created as a response to ARAR units poor response to being put in combat engineer roles, EULR units were made to help with more “pedestrian” tasks while still having mild combat capabilities, great for public facing work that wasn’t policing and/or riot control adjacent. KLBR units were created as mostly a test to see if it was possible to simplify the bioressonance technology introduced with the FLKR units without diminishing performance. Funnily enough the MNHR and its combat variant, the SAPR, spawned partially in a vacuum, since there was already a need for replikas to mine in hazardous environments since the empire’s mining machines were proving ineffective and the Nation’s Gen-1 units were getting too costly to repair, Storch units came about to keep the Star units in line better, and so on and so forth.
As apposed to the entirety mechanical gen-1 units and the mostly mechanical but partially bio-synthetic gen-2 units, the gen-3’s are almost entirely biosynthetic, with most of the mechanical components being hidden internally. Modern replikas are built off a human-styled endoskeleton, with a layer of synthetic muscle and fat, then a thick carbonised skin, with a thin metallic carapace put over it. Contrary to popular belief, this carapace is actually quite sensitive, allowing the replika to experience the same range of sensory input as a human!

Of course there’s some replika types exclusive to this campaign, a perfect example being the fan favourite, GEIR, aka Lilith, this campaign’s white haired bioressonant unit, designed as a one-of-a-kind unit for a high-stakes surgery, kept around longer due to it’s practicality. The built in weapon with this replika unit, woven monowire arms controlled via bioressonance, were based on the character “Lucy” from “Ellen Lied”, a show U have not watched but have seen clips of, it seems intriguing. There’s also the previously mentioned Osprey, aka the OSPR, my own home-grown replika, built and solely used in the nation although there is an analog in the empire. It’s an entertainer for state controlled tv, as well as an assassin whenever needed. Via biting. Earlier in my ideas for this story there were some other specialised one-off units, the AMR Fox has now belonged to offshoot of the STCR, built as a pseudo “tank sniper” for mountainous regions or urban areas, it wasn’t particularly effective but [DATA EXPUNGED] would not let her rest, however. Her neural pattern was based off a legendary sniper from the Nation, in a situation similar to bad-cop from Entropy Zero 2. The replika body being treated more as a clone body for her mind than a true “mass production” replika type. There was also a plan for a gen-1 to show up in the mines. Who knows, maybe when we’re back on track and they get to the mines again, someone will be waiting to see it’s dear comrades.

How’s it going friends, still trying to fix my WiFi, it’s a long story so I won’t get into details, but it’s time for the lore!
Lore drop 3: Self willed the peril of a thousand fates
Long before time was a concept, before the universe was even dust, there were beings. These beings could technically be described as gods, but doing so would be an oversimplification of biblical proportions. Whatever the case, from what we can understand, after some kind of war(?) a number of these beings met their end. To say that they truly died is inaccurate. They came as close as they possibly could to dying. Their physical forms calcified into a solid stone like material, while their minds remained dreaming. Some turned themselves into dust, forever drifting and mutating. A few of these carcasses ended up in our solar system. One became the core of the gas giant Saturn, one crashed into mercury, one crashed onto earth, wiping out the dinosaurs, and the last one embedded itself into what would come to be known as the moon Europa. As time went on the dreams of these dead gods went on to effect the life around them. No I am not implying aliens. At least not yet. Except for Saturn, that has creatures that can best be described as “shark blimps”, I can’t think of a scientific name , this is a relatively common bit of information in setting, don’t worry about it.
The dreams of these dead gods affected one planet especially hard. Earth. In a way that was especially noticed by its dominant species. Unfortunately, due to the empire’s policies in regards to their taxation of the farther colonies as well as the growing disconnection felt between humans born on different planets vs humans from Vineta, this lead to the formation of the Eusan Nation and that’s a slightly poorly explained history of….
