Thank you so much for the many verbose updates freelancer_incorporated! I hope everything in your life improves or at the very least stops inconveniencing you. I too have had my share of troubles lately. Regardless, Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!

Oh! And in the new version which just released, keep an eye out for the shoutout I left for you in the special thanks section!

I found your review! Thank you for sharing your honest opinion! Your honesty is exactly what I want to hear.

I'm going to share it here in this comment for you since it seems itch.io doesn't just show reviews to other users, just the rating, which is a shame on itch.io's part. I think it's good to have your words shared here. Doing this on mobile so I hope the formatting turns out alright.

"This is a very interesting game and deserves a special place on the shelf, but I have one major complaint. It didn't properly set my expectations for what was to come. As a result, I had a hard time with the initial entries, dealing with mixed singles for the vibe or overall goal. And when I finally saw the direction it was going, I was disappointed and a little upset. I wasn't prepared for this kind of story and it hit me a lot harder than I was ready to handle. So I'm going to try and help anyone else who sees this review.
Echoes In My Hull is a solo journaling game about character drama, relationships, personal connections, loss, and tragedy. This is your final journey and you will come to understand your crew in new ways as you see them struggle, triumph and connect with each other and even with you. Sometimes life ends in tragedy, which makes enjoying the journey all the more important. At least then, the echoes that remain are ones of happiness and joy
 New Player Suggestion:
Understand this will be your LAST journey. I'd recommend spending some time at the beginning identifying what this trip actually is. I played a junk hauler and had it undergo many small missions to start, and I think that took away from the overal impact and build of the story. Just a thought though. You do you, and make sure you're ready for some heavy emotions."

Genuinely I wish there was a "like" or "I love everything about this" button on itch.io because I've just been absolutely delighted by the amount of effort you put into updating us on how things go in your game. This post especially since it took some extra effort due to itch or your browser making it harder for you.

Sucks about Lilith's player possibly needing to leave due to job related things. An all too common occurrence when it comes to tabletop games. Hope things work out for you all!

Gotcha. The primary reason I made reloading a complex action rather than a simple one is that I wanted people to pay attention to clip sizes. Kinda like having a "timer" in combat and encourage moments of "I need to reload, someone cover me" or just being very deliberate about positioning.

Awesome! How are you feeling about the combat system so far? Anything jump out that seems off or could use tweaking?

Hell yeah I'm absolutely loving this so far!

Hell yeah. Glad to hear it went well! Hope the next session goes well too!

Thank you so much for stopping by and giving my game a look! I'm really late in replying but I hope you got a chance to play!

That's awesome! I would love to hear how that all goes! Thank you for downloading and running my game!

Incredible

I'm absolutely thrilled that you decided to give Echoes in my Hull a try. It means the world to me that you played through and had the time that you did. Very interesting luck to have the draw that you did. I hope you enjoy the memory of the experience you had. Cheers!

Howdy! As written, there is no leveling up in Crossfade. Survival to the next mission with more resources or just at all is the only progression.

Thank you so much or playing! I'm super happy to hear that it has been a good time for you! :)

As far as updates go, I have seen a surprising amount of interest in gestalt player characters. I know there is a reply on this page where someone had some ideas on how to do this. For my own part I have thought about it some but haven't settled on something that feels satisfactory from my own perspective.

There is one thing I would love to do though.

I would love to make a fully developed adventure. something that would let someone take up the GM mantle and have everything they need to run something for 3 or 4 four hour sessions.

I have an idea of what that would be but just don't have the time lately to write it.

Hope this helps! ^_^

I'm so happy that you are enjoying. When I originally made this it was slapped together in Libre Office which was not at all a good idea lol. I got myself some experience with proper tools (scribus) and kept thinking about how much the character sheets especially really needed better care. Finally I was able to layout things better and make form fillable sheets that aren't a pain in the butt lol.

Hell yeah comrade lol

Thank you for reporting this! Main page is now updated with the zip file.

Thank you for spotting that. It was all available in the major update, but the main page only took the pdf for some reason. It is now fixed.

Thank you so very much for your kind words! I really hope you can get a group together and if you do, definitely stop by again and tell me how it went!

Thank you for this wonderful and detailed comment!

I have seen a lot of requests for a FLKE unit but I must profess that I don't know how I would implement them since they are such looming and overpowering units honestly. I dig your ideas for Gestalts!

Thank you for spotting the text size discrepancies. I know there's a typo or two I still need to fix so I'll note that as well. I made this in sub-optimal software so changing these things is kinda annoying but I'm learning some new publishing software now and when my next project finishes I'll definitely see about getting these fixes done and in proper publishing software this time.

Thank you again! It really made my day hearing that you've been not only playing it, but also enjoying the game!

Yeah, when I wrote this I had been playing a fair bit of Shadowrun and was really into the way dice pools felt to roll. I wanted to break away from the D20 homogeneity, plus the idea of rolling a bunch of 6 sided dice felt right when the number 6 was so important in the game.

This is a little tricky to balance since things like access to Bioresonance abilities can throw off power dynamics. If you decide to take on that challenge, then keep in mind that armor over 4 should be special, and Bioresonance Abilities should come at a price. Whether that's being slower, weaker, or more prone to Persona Destabilization.

This reminds me though that there was a surprising amount of demand for an ADLR sheet, which I've made and will add to the downloads soon.

Hey Pirrip! Thank you for downloading and commenting! I see the formatting error now and a new version should be available within the hour! Sorry about that!

This is one of the best things I've ever seen with my earthly eyes.

1. You are correct! Thank you for spotting this.

2. Thank you for spotting this as well. A revision has been made and new version uploaded to the page.

3. This is a dangerous question! In some cultures it is/was believed that having your photo taken meant also having your soul taken. Make self portraits at your own risk!

Heya! Thank you for the feedback! I'm currently working on a Phasmotography-Lite edition which reduces a lot of the modifiers. My personal goal was to make this feel like you're working with a camera and dealing with making small adjustments as well as dealing with the minute intricacies of camera work - which I think I managed. Even so, there's definitely some refining which could be done so thank you immensely for looking at my work! Thank you especially for pointing out the minor issues. I'll address those very soon and publish a revision (plus revision history).

Also thank you for making the Camera Jamera! It was a blast making this and I wouldn't have even thought to try it if you hadn't made Shudder Speed! <3
