notes from session 2
- bird is bleeding from the mouth
- the corpse is still here, but a bit less talkative
- burning elevator flies past [like half life]
- bartering [but like, on the honour system
- the first actual combat encounter [which was over in less than a round]
derailment due to knowledge that I was under the impression was already known.
- security closet
- first safe room[!] and also an inaugural save!
- Eve found a star unit's armour mask thingy[+1 to armour]
- the ceaseless watcher.
this session was cut short due to reasons, anyway, will update next week with some sparknotes from the next session!
:3
guess what, I'm back! more SparkNotes from session 3
- never let Lilith have chalk ever again [my ears]
- shop unlocked!
- unreal sippage
- a previously dying star unit is so thoroughly done with the party's shit she leaves for parts unknown
- "where'd the party go?" "probably in the hole"
- glimpse of....... her.
- this room does not exist. but you're here!
accidental derailment over *Ball McCartney*
- confusion about number of doors in the corridoor they're in
- found the butterfly box! can't open it though.
- another safe room, another save
- Eve is now Aware[™] of her player
- Bird is now Aware[™] of her player
- Lilith is now Aware[™] of her player[s]
- fox is now Aware[™]{through different means} of his player [also his player decided to speak to them like Bill Cipher]
- the security camera watches ceaselessly
- we watch ceaselessly
- the ceaseless watcher......... it's in her name.
that's it for episode three! to be frank with you, the sparknotes for this session are a bit simplified, I even left out a puzzle they did, also Ball McCartney took up a lot more space in the party's heads then I thought it would but hey
see you all next week with more intel!
great news then, I have more notes :]
Notes from session 4
- waking up (to ash and rust)
- simply ignore the existential dread overcoming you
- everyone’s internal clocks are fucked. Severely
- the office(tm)
- the great revolutionary? Or the great traitor? More at eleven
[we almost derailed at the office tbh]
- too many key cards, so little time
- service corridor
- pipe room
- makeshift Arar break room featuring: the foreshadowing crt
(And a Deltarune joke)
- made it to the next corridor
Accidentally walked the the door that shows you *the horrors*
- fox got shot
- eve drowned
- Bird crashed some nondescript aircraft
- Lilith watched her child self and her dad perform an autopsy
- ceaseless watcher
- they got better dw
Rest in the hallway [end]
same time next week I suppose
zum Ruhm unserer wunderbaren Nation!
為了我們輝煌帝國的長壽
we're back with yet another set of sparknotes!!
Notes from session 5
- hanging out in the hallway outside the horrors
- actually trying to talk about any of the horrors[tm]
- Eve checking on the scar fox got from getting courier 6’d
- in one of many horrid choices Lilith went into “The door that shows you the horrors + gestalt memories” and almost gets vivisected by a version of the gestalt she was built off.
[She’s the first person here to actually get any persona damage!]
- Lilith has her first true glimpse of the ceaseless watcher, of whom her player warned her (not hyperbole in the slightest)
- Lilith gets a friendly fire citation
- fox is somehow playing fucking ANGRY BIRDS
Empire time
- Fox & bird go into the next room, which is apparently a kitchen.
- turns out those empire lads are quite sneaky
- first new enemy of the campaign! Corrupted star units catalogued
- combat lasted about four turns, which is a new record
- Bird continues their trend of rolling abysmally at inopportune times.
- flare + corrupted star = the entire thing burning to ash apparently. Also there was a repair patch inside the other Star
- fucked up sneaking back to the others, more combat
- Eve goes into the bathroom, her reflection changes to a gestalt, gets hit with a flashbang by that soldier from Fox’s memories. Got a patch of a flag
- the mirror is broken, showing a frozen over copy of the bathroom
- that soldier’s still around here. Somewhere
- showing Fox the flag from the guy that shot him in the head, in fact, was not enjoyable, mostly because it means it was in some way real
- the gang searches the storeroom (featuring the ceaseless watcher’s atomic shadow I guess)
- saying that the pantry is unkempt is putting it charitably. Not that it’s a sea of rot but a lot of stuff is decayed.
- Eve misses a point blank shot.
- Lilith stabs the corrupted Eule and gets a cleaver in her shoulder
- Bird misses
- Fox puts the Eule down
- Eve stomps its skull in
- Lilith gets that point of persona back after hacking the corpse up
this was the most combat heavy session by far, a welcome surprise zum Ruhm unserer wunderbaren Nation!
most problems I have are only relating to how I personally plan encounters, one thing that's slightly a nitpick is that reloading should probably be classed as a simple action, rather than a complex one, might help streamline things. this was the most combat heavy session yet, but there weren't too many problems. I guess it's more accurate to say "not as many problems as I was expecting"
honestly, I'm tempted to try making some renders of the replikas I've been talking about in these Session logs, but I guess I could give some random notes on each of them if asked, it's whatever.
fair enough, also it's that time of the week again!
Notes from session 6
- unsurprisingly, a pantry full of rotting food is not fucking enjoyable,
- there's a freezer.
why is it fucking MOVING?????? - hey, Fox, go touch the moving Freezer,
- hey look, there's a dnd campaign going on in the freezer- oh never mind it's meat,
- unsurprisingly, opening the box of rotting meat? not a good smell, thank you for closing it, Bird.,
- unless you're lilith, I guess.,
- holy shit, Lilith actually comforting someone that isn't Eve? what did Bird do to get the special treatment? [second direct acknowledgment of the way we mostly use masculine pronouns both in and out of character when referring to Bird],
- Eve finds the ashes of that Star from earlier,
- Eve ALSO needs to stop taking point because she keeps nearly getting attacked. nearly got a bullet in her head,
- you thought the Clinic would be normal? FOOL THAT YOU ARE, time travel! [on a technicality],
- fish tank :],
- Eve attempts to look up patient data, finds out there is/was a kid in her care- oh sweet jesus, it's a Blizzard,
- inside is Lewis, an imperial. he's very confused as to why what he thinks are the cops are at a metropolitan gp clinic he works at. during a snow storm.,
- "FYM it's 2018?????????" [I was intentionally vague about the dates],
- come to this weird fictionalised version of Manitoba, we have: the dumbest fucking fire escape design on this plane of reality [like, you need to go up a staircase to get to the roof, but then there's a staircase down the side that ALSO connects to some high-rise building too like wtf],
- Fox gets that leather jacket I promised their player a bit ago[session 2],
- Eve ptsd flashbacks,
- walking down the "street with too many yield signs",
[silent hill joke]
- police station, everything is damp,
- the red door,
- WE'RE BACK IN THE FUCKING BUILDING AGAIN,
- oh hey, it's a S.T.C.R. oh she's an asshole. [surprisingly, Zwei isn't dead yet.],
end of session
overall, this session dipped into some fun storytelling stuff for me personally, although I might try to avoid the one-off locations in the future, Lewis though is sticking around [albeit older but yk]
