Looking for 2D game ideas for next semester

Hello, I’ve been working on a clicker game for the past three months for my Advanced Computer Projects class.

I’m pretty new to game development, so I can really only do 2D right now. With about a month of the semester left, I need to start developing a new game starting February. Does anyone have any 2D game ideas that are not overwhelmingly large?

I’m not sure where to post this, so if the post is in the incorrect category, please move it rather than delete it.

There are many 2D not large game concepts. Even RPG, RTS, point n click and metroidvania could be made in smaller scale.

So pick something that you like and make it small.

i would mention platformers, particulary ones who aren't lore based (like some rage games and those hard kaizo games), as platformers are simple to code, and are pretty much carried by game and level design. Puzzles are a little bit harder to make, so i would go with some challenging games instead
