The intro was spectacular !!! I wish there were more comments in here because the artwork and animation seems to be on another level here :) Great work - this game felt polished and had a lot of personality. Top 2 cutscenes here lol

I'm glad you enjoyed it, this is however definetly the most well recieved game I've ever made. Visuals aren't my strong suit so I just spammed shaders I found from godotshaders.com Also I am so proud with how the game turned out. Definitely one if my better games I feel like the main problem is the "flow" or GameLoop. The game doesn't really tell you where to look when. It doesn't compose the scenein terms of timing and positions. This makes the game slightly stressful to some.

Also my game could do with more micro interactions maybe picking up coins or something else.

Lol, this game is hilarious!   I love how it looks like all the movement animations are traced out with a broken mouse and the characters sometimes just pop around around the place for a while before buying 5 hot coco locos    XD
It's got a real nice charm to it all.
I hope to one day return and buy myself a  nice, elegant, agreeable, superior, high quality, innovative premium luxurious hat!!

Thanks for the complements.

Did you finish the game?

I really really liked this game! It's simple but well-made, has a good sense of humor and I can see in the animation you had fun making it haha.

I really like the visual storytelling, and how it's implemented

Thanks for sharing!

LOVE THE CUTSCNE MY FAVORITE LOOL

very curious as to what you mean by "made my own animation engine!" i really love the charm the animations style added, the way they move as if puppetted by simple editor, especially with the little touches like the pleasantly satisfying sfx when the animals hop/flip

on the art visuals side i really love the distinct look - it reminds me of a fun paper crafty sort of look that definitely feels cohesive when combined with the animations and sounds AND u got that autumn palette used nicely

the ambient sounds fill the space in a calm but naturefully joyous way and fit the vibe of a mostly idling game

i will admit i like personally as a person am not the biggest fan of idling /tycoon games BUT i stuck it out! AND IT WAS WORTH IT, TO SEE NOT ONLY SMILE ON HIS FACE, but also the NICE, ELEGANT, AGREEABLE, SUPERIOR, HIGH-QUALITY, INNOVATIVE, PREMIUM, LUXURIOUS HAT!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for the complements I really appreciate it.

As for my custom animation engine, yeah it's just a simple script that let's me move characters with my mouse and then record and play back their positions.

In fact I never removed the devtools from the game I just made them invisible you'll find that if you hit R on the keyboard and then move your mouse around and hit R again you sould maybe see a new file appear.

Art is not my strong suit look at all my other games to know that much, so I developed my own "style" over time. I use Godot's built in polygon2D node to create shapes manually, then I apply color to them and that's usually where I call it a day, but this time I went above and beyond. I decides to use shaders. This was my first time using shaders so I just copy and pasted them all from godotshaders.com But they really work well! Shoutout to blur shader that I used way to extensively.

I'm also used to spamming particles until my game looks good.

Did you enjoy the mini narratives I eanted each character to have lore in the interactions and since the lore isn't said too well in game I just have to say it here.

The Fox gets chased by the wolf because he stole some of the Wolf's money, after that the fox xan come and buy a bunch of hot coco loco do a couple spins and buy one more. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

The wolf falls in a pond once and later always jumps over it.

The snail by the way is the only one that has a name. I named him after what my brother called him in slug form: Scooter. So Scooter buy loco but then it gets stolen by the fox. The fox uses it as a hat and flexes on you for not having a hat. The big yellow dog comes chases the fox and gets Scooters shell back. They are now BFFs.

I dont have lore for the birds/frogs

Sorry for my excessively long reply, I'm glad you enjoyed the game and thank you for making my day by doing so.
