Incredible sound design! It's not quite an escape-room game with puzzles, but more like interactive fiction where certain objects only become interactable after interacting with others. This leads to a lot of pixel hunting since you don't know what object leads to what or where it will be in the room.
I'm not sure if you consider this a spoiler or not so it's in ROT13 just in case. I really liked when: lbh tb gb fgnaq hc naq jnyx nebhaq gur ebbz, ohg V jvfu gurer jnf n ovg zber gb frr bgure guna gur glcrjevgre.
But all in all this is a fun little mystery with some great tension and I would be interested in seeing a post jam version!

Top tier sound design. I thought I was sitting in that chair the whole game and then I could stand wow. The sound effects on everything was super nice and the slow horror was well donel. I do agree with other commenters that there was some pixel hunting. I was just swiping my mouse across every surface to see what was clickable.
Still it was very enjoyable experience
The artistic and musical atmosphere is really great. I’m not a big reader in games, basically, and yet I was curious to find out more!
I enjoyed being able to move around at the end, and the effect on the walls…!
At any moment, I expected to see something… but everything was “subtle,” almost everything was calm from beginning to end, it sends chills down your spine. No screams, no faces, just a cold ending for our character.
Well done!
Thank you so much!! Glimmer, our programmer, has a love/hate relationship with horror (as she puts it.) So, we took extra care to create that sense of dread and tension, while also still being palatable for players like her that might not enjoy jump scares. And we're so glad we could capture your interest so well!
Very smart use of a single room and simple interactions to tell a cosmic horror story. Kinda reminded me of The King in Yellow. Had a fun time trying to string everything together, and it definitely stuck the landing.
I will say that despite the wonderful atmosphere and sound design, the gameplay does devolve into pixel hunting. The game makes no indication as to where to look, so I basically waved my mouse around until the UI changed. I understand you really wanted to make the player feel like they’re really digging for clues in this old dilapidated archive, but as it stands, it feels arbitrary and got me out of the experience. Maybe some sort of outline or indication as to where to look next will help, or even a ‘hot/cold’ system if you still want to conserve that “digging for clues” feel.
Again though, competent little story, well presented.
Thank you so much for your playing our game, and for your detailed feedback!! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed piecing things together!
We agree that the game needs more clarity with the clue system. A hot/cold type thing is actually a cool solution to that--will have to look into it if we do a post-jam update.
The game is really interesting! I really like your UI - it looks great, and the gameplay feels fun and enjoyable!^^
okay im l8 since i played this like a couple days ago but this game was so good at getting me tense. it was bit confusing at first but once i got the hang of the whole 'interacting w objects' thing it was pretty smooth afterwards. WONDERFUL art & sound design. really good at getting aesthetic across. overall, a solid 4/5 in my books.
The visuals are beautiful and the story seemed quite interesting!
After reading all the papers in the room, I wasn't sure what to do next however...
Woah what a cool atmospheric short horror with lovecraft vibes! The ending caught me off guard where I was given more controls it took me a while to realise what I could do but was delighted when I discovered I could explore more. Sound is great, and artstyle is beautiful! Very well done!
Hey, Ryuison! Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback. We’re super ecstatic to hear you enjoyed the game!
Our goal when creating the ending was to throw the player off. We figured that giving them a bit more control (and having them discover it) could be a fun way of doing that, but it definitely could have been clearer what to do.
