Good game! I was able to reach 1.979.000 score on my second try after I learned the movement controls. I would like to be able to move the character with the Arrow Keys as well. I think the Green side was more fun, because i had to move the player to get the candies. For the red side, at some point I could just leave the player in the right corner and just wait for a red candy to fall. It might also help to add the movement buttons somewhere.

I got 133,032 as my high score. I admit I only played through it once so I could've probably gotten higher now that I read there's a bug on the red side. I really enjoyed the graphics and the way you interpreted the theme. It was a lot of fun for such a simple concept, and it was very well implemented. Timmy reminded me of Timmy from The Fairly Odd Parents.

Solid entry. Well executed.

Nice score!! I'm pretty sure I patched the red-side exploit anyways, but knowing my luck there's a chance I didn't lol! As its my first game jam in a while, my goal was that I wanted to roll with a super simplistic bite-sized project, so I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D

You really killed it. I'm wishing I'd kept mine a bit simpler because fixing bugs and confusion in my game would have helped me out a lot.

This was amasing i got 444 as highscore, is that some kind of secret? did i find a secret?
This game was fun short and cool, great controls sounds and fits theme perfectly

Developer

Like, your score stayed on 444?? That's a new one x]! Not intentional at all, I'll need to try hunt down that bug haha!! Thankyou for playing!!

my favorite game so far...including my own unfortunately!
Id honestly like to see this as a real game.

notes:
some sort of indication of win/lose condition or big combo bar would be nice.
id like to try a mode where the left hand and side of the screen is WASD and the right was arrow keys!

try ours if you get a chance please

Developer

Really appreciate you taking time to play!! Thank you! :D

I also really like the idea of a combo bar - I should have implemented some visual way to convey that your score gain/loss increases with your high score and something like a combo bar would've been perfect for that. Dual controls is also a really interesting idea, I could maybe add a random event where you have to do both sides at once for a certain period of time?

I'll definitely give your guys game a play and a rating!!

hahahahaha that was a really unique and fun interpretation of the theme. nom nom nom

Developer

Thank you for playing!! It's a bit style over substance, but I like making my projects as whimsical as they will allow me lolol!! :]

Had a fun time playing, well done. Only real feedback would be maybe a little more margin on the switch, giving a chance to dodge, as i noticed sometimes when the screen switched i was on a red and no way to move before being hit. This also adds to the challenge and randomness though so depends on the desired path. Overall a fun time!

Thankyou for playing!! :D

I was so sure I fixed being able to hide in the left of the red zone before shipping but it seems like I didn't lol! On your suggestion - that's something I'd definitely consider if I was taking this project further! I think having to manage between the two screens is a really interesting idea that I would focus on and I'd want to figure out a good way to implement a mechanic of keeping track of where the obstacles were on the screen that's not currently active. Could maybe highlight them subtly through the static/have the static be slightly more see through? Would need to playtest it thoroughly I'm sure lolol

Again, thankyou for playing and for the feedback!!

cool concept i liked the switching between having to collect and dodge, however there didn't seem to be any win or lose condition

Developer(+1)

I was trying to go for an arcade-style endless game (Wanted to go easy on myself for my first game-jam in a while lolol), but I totally agree on the lose condition being quite unclear - you lose if you get to zero score but I'm sure there was most likely a better way for me to implement that as the balancing of the game actually makes it quite hard to lose. Thanks for the feedback and thankyou for playing! :D

ah ok that makes sense! first of all, great job for your first jam, it's very visually appealing. i thought when the score went red it went into the negative, but i must've been confused. also bug fix suggestion, on the red stage you can hide offscreen, so you never get hit by the red candies :) i still had a pleasent time playing your game! good luck on your future endevours! (and yea it could be good to cap the points somehow so they don't scale to hundreds of millons quite fast) i had fun playing it :)

Developer(+1)

Oops!! Thought I fixed that before I shipped it lol! I'm glad you had some fun!! I've been playing your team's game a bit too by the way - very cool idea and execution that makes for interesting puzzles, will make sure to give you guys a good rating! :D
