This was a really nice. I loved the game running in the TV. (I made the same choice.) I also enjoyed the pulse-pounding music. The trick-or-treater scene outside the door was cute too.
The pace of the game felt rather slow because the player moved very slowly, and it was hard to avoid the mimics. In fact, I didn't realize I was being eaten by them at first because I didn't see the animation of them or see my health go down. I was just getting teleported back to the start and then dying randomly from opening chest it seemed at first. A sound effect and a little delay to see the mimic attack would've helped. The game felt a bit like playing Russian Roulette until you found the right chest which wasn't super fun.
Overall, this was a great entry for your first jam! Well done!
Really cute! And I'm glad it's your first game for a jam! I understand the feeling because our game is also the first game ever especially for a jam!
Apart from that, the game is really nice and I really had a lot of fun! Keep it up! I hope to see you participate in an upcoming gamejam! The more you do, the more you learn! Good luck for the future!
I really enjoyed it,
it was fun and well made
few things that was lacking, sfx would really complete this game
the mimics are a bit to jumpy i had to measure distance very carefully to survive the mimic, most of the time i died, each level took more than 10 tries (maybe closer to 20)
in second and third level i really expected to get some environmental kill and get rid of some of the mimics, but the tractor just went trough them.
also i found a bug in level 3, the spikes just moved me up, and i couldn't do anything, couldn't even die, at some point i got high enough to fly over gate and trigger next scene, but door got stuck guess i needed key, so restart button can be great addition.
overall this was awesome, suited theme and the crt effect was lovely gave it extra charm.
Thanks for playing and especially for your feedback! Unfortunately, due to delivery times, we weren't able to fix all the bugs, but we should be releasing a patch today that fixes them!
We're really glad you liked it :D
Really enjoyed how the game flips the familiar “find the key, escape” trope into something more tense and surreal — the switch between worlds and the hunt for the key felt fresh. Some rooms / transitions felt a little rough, which might break immersion for a moment, but the core concept and the atmosphere hit strong. Fantastic work!
🎮 If you’ve got a minute, I’d love for you to check out my jam game too: Hush Boy, Hush — https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977
Thank you for playing it! We're glad you liked it :)
Great job!
Awesome job!
I'm not really a fan of these kinds of games myself (or any spooky games for that matter), but that was very well made!
Awesome job for a first game jam submission! Well done to the whole team!
I really like how the game switch between the TV world and the real world, that's pretty creative
Thank you! :)
Fun chaser! I wasn't able to see the last scene (I think it was the last) as it soft-locked itself or something, but I was able to beat the tomb.
Thank you for playing it! :) At the last minute we have that issue and now we are trying to fix it!
