I loved the ambience from the sounds and the rain.
The only issue I noticed is that the text seems to be blurry at high resolutions while the game art remains crisp. From what I can tell, it's caused by the Stretch Mode being set to viewport instead of canvas_items. Alternatively, maybe a font designed for pixel art would work fine on the viewport setting.
Hi!
Thanks for playing. Yes, the blurry text has already been fixed. It gets solved with subviewports and camera zoom for the main scene. So the next update won't have blurry text.
I'm glad you liked the ambience, thanks for playing!!
As others have said the sound design is so good! I'm not usually one for clicker games but i enjoyed this one and played it all the way to the end. I can see this being built out into a full blown game with more upgrade options and goals.
I did come across a bug where the menus (options, instructions, selecting upgrades, etc) would overlap if i tried to open a new dialog without closing the previous. Other than that, the game ran really well and felt polished!
Hi! Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, the menu issue is easy to fix, I'm adding it to the backlog. I'm also hoping to turn it into a full game after the jam. I'm working on it right now.
Thanks for playing it, I'm glad you liked it!
Really good! Really liked the ambience and theme, the ending was especially neat imo.
Nice work, a good lil' idle game!
Hi, I'm glad you liked it, Thanks for playing! I also loved your game, great job!
The sound design in this game is sooo good, just the right mix of creepy and cult-y to really set the tone. I especially loved the whispering / chanting voice. The gameplay was really fun, and the ending where you finally get to summon the sleeper felt so satisfying! Nicely done.
Thanks a lot! I'm so glad people enjoy my game. About the sound, I'm not even a sound designer really, here's how I achieved some of the audio if you’d like to peek behind the curtain :-)
I'm glad you liked it, thanks for playing!
Um yes I love seeing how the sauce is made!It reminds me a bit of Cult of the Lamb, where one guy did all the voices and sound effects for the cultists and characters in the game, which resulted in something that felt both cohesive and very unique to that game.
Anyways, thanks for sharing your dev logs! I followed you cause I'm interested to see more behind-the-scenes stuff, and it seems like you have big plans for Masks of Madness
look mum! I blew up the planet!
congratz on such a unique clicker game! Took me a while to figure out the right click spammed chants, but after that it was smooth sailing! Really enjoyed your choice of having the tutorial always available at the top explaining everything, great work!
PS: The shortcuts were really helpful!
Thanks for the feedback!
The very first sentence you see when the level loads explains that you chant with right click, but it's ok, it serves me as a reminder that some people (myself included sometimes) skip the tutorial and want to jump right into the action. And that's ok, I'm not complaining, I just have to take this into account and adapt it to the player's behavior and convey the information in a way that is not as invasive for them. I'm redesigning the tutorial because I'm getting comments of people that either skip it or find it a bit overwhelming at first.
In any case, I'm glad you could go past that and enjoy the game. Thanks for playing!!
no no! You are right it was there! But I didnt think I could click on the main dude to activate it I was clicking all around instead hehe :)
You do have the information always available, its a super win in my book
Great game, i think its the most unique and original idle game ive ever seen. I loved the animation when you summon the sleeper it reminded me of the good ol days in pokemon dungeon :))
Thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot, every comment motivates me to keep working on the project. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for playing!
Really nice game with awesome look and feel. I kinda missed the button to place followers, but after reading help again, it all made sense :) Great job!
Hi! Thanks for the feedback!
Yes, the followers button will be centered in the next update to make it more clear, I already added it to the backlog.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it!
Cool clicker game. I like how atmospheric it is, and how the environment changes the closer you are to summoning The Sleeper. I also love how you chose the cosmic horror theme which brings the spirit of spooktober.
At first, I didn't know you could summon followers using the button at the top right corner, because it felt more like a resource tracker alone.
Sacrificing feels good.
Overall, nice game. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your review!!
Yes, I will be making the mechanics more clear in my next tutorial. I will also place the followers counter in the top-center, above the High Priest so it's even more clear. I mean the tutorial already explained how to buy them, but like me I'm sure most people just skips tutorials and want to jump right into the action, lol. I'll take this into account since you're not the first to point that out.
I'm glad you liked it, thanks for playing!!
