THIS WAS SO ADORABLE> I loved the unique take on a genre like this and the layout is so insanely creative as is the gameplay and concept, it really stood out to be. I didn't find it scary or horror but spooky, but a lot of the games are like that for hawktober, I think. Very very nice.

Three things I liked about this game:

  1. BEAUTIFUL hand drawn art through the whole game!
  2. Cool concept - Reverse Phasmophobia
  3. Lots of good QoL touches in the game, from the controls preview intertwined in the into story to the van that tells you about your powers and lets you try them out to even being able to review the objectives during the mission. It's good stuff.

Three things I did not like:

  1. The player's ghostly body gets in the way of the effect when they interact with something - although there is an audio cue to tell you that an interaction has happened, it's not always obvious what changed until you move away.
  2. It takes a lot of interactions before your friends are convinced of the existence of the ghost
  3. There isn't much strategy involved in placing evidence - it boils down mostly to keeping certain points "haunted" and placing handprints where you hope the friends will walk to (when applicable).

First, I would like to mention how much I loved the visuals. I still remember the first of your games I played, and while the visuals caught my attention and were quite unique, they were still pretty rough. However, you kept improving you art with each new game, and this one is, in my opinion, your best looking game so far, specially in terms of sprites. Seriously, the style, the art, the sprites, the backgrounds....I loved all of them. Your animations have also improved greatly. But overall, in terms of art, this is one of the best looking games I've played in a while, and definitely one of the most unique ones too. Your style is pretty recognizable, and in a really good way.

The concept of the game is really neat, and the gameplay didn't feel repetitive to me, although maybe that's because I'm a fan of everything related to ghosts. I actually felt relaxed while playing and I would have loved to have more stages, maybe with more characters. Still, the lenght of the game is good considering it's for a jam. Also, I want to mention how much I like your tutorials.

The music was really goood, really relaxing and that's another thing that you've improved greatly. I thought Invasive Species had the best soundtrack, but I think this one might dethrone it.

I don't really have something to complain about other than what I mentioned about more stages and more characters, although that's more of a personal wish than a real critique, since the game didn't really need that in order to tell the full story.

So yeah, overall, a really solid game with beautiful visuals, and definitely one of my favorite entries!

This was such a sweet and wholesome entry for Hawktober. ; w ;

The story was very clear to make out from the speech bubbles. It only has the one track to work with, but it's a dang good one-trick pony. Never got old or stale to listen to over the short duration of the game. I had a little trouble at first when it came to the ghost powers, and looking at the other comment, I think I had the same issue. The interacting event was actually underneath the interactive indicators and tripped me up, since I could click on them, but nothing would happen. That tripped me up, but once I realized that what I needed was under them, I just used mouse and keyboard to get through the rest.

I did have to restart once in the very first room, because green shirt wouldn't go down the stairs at all. I have no idea why they wouldn't, nor have any idea how to recreate the bug for testing and fixing purposes.

thanks for giving it a go!!! And I’m glad the story and music worked and made sense! Always a fun challenge to make something without dialogue haha. The music ends up being more important than I bargained for and I’m not exactly a musician so glad you liked what was able to cook up 😂

Yeah I definitely took a gamble with shifting how hit boxes work in RM (it’s an illusion, I just made all the sprites 96 pixels tall instead of 48 so that’s why you had to click beneath stuff). I was so worried about it being visually confusing you had to line up her tail to click on stuff. I high key forgot about people using their mouse to navigate. Maybe in future updates I’ll just take away that function so it feels more cohesive.

Great feedback thank you it’s very helpful! And no clue about the bug. I’m shaking RM down for all it’s worth so I’m not shocked it’s occasionally being weird 😂

Oh my god, this was such a cute game! I started with this one because I had a feeling it'd be a wholesome little thing. What I loved about it was that even though there was no dialogue, you still told a story nearly perfectly just with pictures and the little sticky-notes. And I thought the artwork fit the type of game it was perfectly. You did a really good job! The only thing I had trouble with was the mouse UI; sometimes the character would go right in front of the object and it wouldn't be selected, so I ended up going to just keyboard in the end. But other than that little hiccup, this was an incredibly good start and I'm very glad this was my first game.

ahh thank you for ur kind words and giving it a go! I hadn’t done a side view like this in a while and always have so much fun figuring out the layers and the look of it haha. I’m glad the story made sense too, phew lol. I was aiming to do something light hearted for a change and glad I did!

I went back and forth on the “hit box” placement. I was so worried that it’d be confusing if her ghostly tail was her hit box I shifted the size all the events so it had to match up with her head cuz I knew I was doing something that’s so unlike rpg maker that not everyone would know rpg maker “rules” for how things interact. Tbh I always forget to playtest with just the mouse! This is a good reminder to do that in the future 🥳🫶
