Incredibly fun toy to mess around with, I'm sure the alt-control version is awesome! The crazy visual design for the character / instrument / ??? was a lot of fun, as was switching between times of day. I started getting into the rhythm of layering noises -- if I had to leave a piece of critique, it would be to have some kind of baseline simple drumbeat or something to keep the flow going even if you take your fingers off all four arrows. Great work!
Couldn't get the trap beat on my laptop, but still had a fun time messing around. Can't wait to play on the actual controller!
if you press and hold all four arrow keys down the time of day shifts! unless there is a glitch and its not working on some computers? let me know!
Yea I tried to press all four arrow keys, guess it doesn't work on my laptop :(
This was a pretty unique game that I ever tried, I never tried rythm games before but it did spark the creativity of allowing the player or user to create thier own tune in some sort. I also felt that using arrows keys was a bit hurting for my hand because I was using only one hand to control it(but it might be because my laptop is smol).Also am curious about whats the criteria for the ghoul king to like my song or tune? :O Like how do you decide if my tune is good or not. The game was pretty funky! :>
haha well. as of now the game its not really a rhythm game its a sound board with a cool controller and visuals. The kazool kings just approve of everyone after a certain amount of playing "=.= .but its would be coool to see it develop more later :) thanks for playing
Ah I see, the controller must be a fun thing to build! I tried some tunes to figure out which one gives me the most score or which gives me no or less score, which is why I asked that. The kazool king is indeed very supportive then since I was just trying to play whatever made sense to me and he approved me anyway XD I wish you good luck with your journey! A very welcome this is the first jam where I actually posted a game and finding unique games like yours, did tell me there are many things we can do to create fun.
Could just be my laptop (or me), but I couldn't get it to do everything I think it's supposed to do with the keyboard. The controller looks really cool!
if you press and hold all four arrow keys down the time of day shifts! this unlocks the second sound board. let me know if this helps
Cool idea to have a music maker. Kind of wish you took it a step further and maybe turned it into some sort of inverse rhythm game.
For sure! I think since it was a quick solo project for me with the focus of building the alt-controller I didn't take on a lot of gameplay elements. But I would be interested to develop further post Jam.
I figured a bunch of your time went into that controller which I must admit is pretty cool and way beyond my abilities to make. I wonder if it would be possible to use haptic feedback on the individual buttons to tell you which one to press to make a song and make it more game like. It would be a very unique game if you could pull off such a thing.
Very interesting concept. I had fun with it but I wish there were more gameplay elements.
I understand. It was a quick solo project for me with the focus of building the alt-controller, so I didn't take on a lot of gameplay elements. But I would be interested to develop further post Jam. Or next Jam now that I feel more secure in my alt-controller work joining a team with that being my focus.
Can't wait to try this with the controller and make some evil ass sounds with it >:)>:)>:)>:)>:)>:)
time to conjure evilllll !!! >:{ >:{

The Ghoul Kazool!
