I don’t think you’ll get a very satisfying answer, to be honest. They’ll probably just direct you to a page with the general guidelines — but those are often outdated and not that helpful in cases like this.

I’ve faced a similar issue with indexing myself. Some games that were released long after mine got indexed quickly, even though many of them didn’t fully meet the quality guidelines. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting to be indexed.

I’m not sure if Itch.io was always like this, but lately, as developers, we’ve been left in a bit of uncertainty. They’re probably just too busy and struggling to keep up with everything.
I’ll be following this thread — I really hope your issue gets resolved soon.

Oh well, let me help you!

Itch.io, along with Steam, is experiencing some issues related to payment methods due to some... situations in the last few months.
I won't go into too much detail, but if you do a little research, you'll find out what it is.

The thing is, Itch.io isn't indexing games that have the "Name your price" option enabled. If you remove this option and make the game free, I'm sure it will be indexed within a few minutes. This happened to me too, and no one gave me any support. Fortunately, I found out through a user here in the community. But yeah, try this, I hope it helps!

I followed your advice, and it worked perfectly — my page got indexed right away! I’d been waiting for over a week, and now I’m honestly so happy. Thank you so, so much for sharing this tip!

You're welcome, friend!

It's so sad that support often doesn't do anything to help. Even though there's such a simple solution, they'd rather not help us solve it. But what can we do? At least everything worked out!

Good luck with your game!

And after that is it normal to come back to Name your price, or it will stop working?

The issue the original poster is not related to indexing. They are asking how posting devlog posts affects their ranking on the “popular” games list.

I understand you may be frustrated about the status of your page, I get it, but we ask that devs don’t pile into other unrelated threads to share their own issues.

Thanks
