It’s an interesting idea! You could add some sound effects when approaching the monster - maybe a bit of ambient tension or a small jumpscare, along with an animation of the monster moving towards the player.
Also, adding sounds for opening doors, footsteps, or even the occasional creak would really help make the movement feel more immersive. I really enjoyed exploring, though at first I didn’t realise that the grey screen meant I had moved further into the level.
Oh, and it might be nice to have a counter showing how many rooms you’ve managed to get through! It also seems that the layout is a bit off - even when switching to full screen, the game stays in the top-left corner instead of filling the screen. Good luck with your development! ^^
Would you mind checking out my game as well? :)

Thanks for the detailed commentary on my game. I really was planning on adding some of the things you mentioned here(except for the monster moving, he is dead, but his third eye is alive). The counter is great idea too, can't believe I actually didn't think about that, lol. The fullscreen not working is an issue I am unsure of how to fix, but I'll see if I can do anything about it. I'll also make time to play your game as soon as possible!

Again, thank you for your comment.

The unsettling art and sound design is really well done!

Developer

Thank you very much, I was hoping that it would be well recieved, and I am glad it is.

Cool game idea, wished it was more memory based so i could pick the correct door all the way to the exit, i tried really hard but didn’t make it out :D

Developer

That is unfortunate, sorry you couldn't make it. I hope it was still enjoyable though!

The art was very well made, I enjoyed the music ramping up and doubling. It honestly gave it a more disturbing vibe. I enjoyed exploring!

Developer

I didn't even know the music did that until the day after I submitted this game💀. I'm happy you actually liked that though.

The fact that sound kept playing on top of eachother made the game more and more unsettling. I didn’t make it out, but despite the little amount of gameplay, the vibes are good. GJ!

Developer

Thank you very much! The music was not intentional, but it's good to see that you actually liked it.

I really liked the art! There wasn't much gameplay sadly but cool art!

Developer

Thank you very much! I do have ideas for more gameplay, but I'd have to do some testing before that.

theres a tiny bug with the sound. each time you go in another room one sound gets added and plays on top of the other sound

Developer(+1)

oh damn, thanks for telling me. I didnt know a bug like that could exist lol. I'll have to see what i can do about that.
