It’s an interesting idea! You could add some sound effects when approaching the monster - maybe a bit of ambient tension or a small jumpscare, along with an animation of the monster moving towards the player.
Also, adding sounds for opening doors, footsteps, or even the occasional creak would really help make the movement feel more immersive.
I really enjoyed exploring, though at first I didn’t realise that the grey screen meant I had moved further into the level.
Oh, and it might be nice to have a counter showing how many rooms you’ve managed to get through!
It also seems that the layout is a bit off - even when switching to full screen, the game stays in the top-left corner instead of filling the screen.
Good luck with your development! ^^
Would you mind checking out my game as well? :)

Thanks for the detailed commentary on my game. I really was planning on adding some of the things you mentioned here(except for the monster moving, he is dead, but his third eye is alive). The counter is great idea too, can't believe I actually didn't think about that, lol. The fullscreen not working is an issue I am unsure of how to fix, but I'll see if I can do anything about it. I'll also make time to play your game as soon as possible!
Again, thank you for your comment.
