Judgment Cometh!

I loved subpixel’s animation, so I turned it into an actual Game Boy ROM.

This project turned out to be much harder than anticipated. I probably should have used GB Studio, but I’d grown accustomed to doing everything in assembly.

Any chances of including this in the jam’s cart? I published the code under MIT and left more than 64 tiles for the window as requested ;)

The cart is legit y’all. It even has a rad soundtrack! Load it up in an emu, or dump it to device if you have one. You can practically smell the real game wafting off of this thing.

Sadly the game won't be able to be added to the official Jam cartidge/ROM, as that is built up using GB Studio and some wizardry Phthon scripting to parse all the entries.

The game looks awesome, and just what Jams are for - to inspire and push you forward to create even more!

Good job!!

Thank you. subpixel carefully designed the animation to make the transition to code relatively easy.

I believe it is possible to add an assembly plugin to a GBS project. In any case, all the assets are there, so remaking it with GBS is also an option (albeit not a straightforward one).

This is the secret goal of the Jam, to get you inspired to move to the next step and explore the tools. Awesome work.

Thank you. 90% of this is @subpixel’s mastery of platform-aware pixel art.
