OMG self-care costing 32 hours D: That’s life I guess (ok I just stacked a few doubling the cost cards in my deck ahah)

The game is really addictive and has great replayability. The gameplay is smooth and satisfying, and the music and art create a perfect vibe. I love how detailed every card is, including little text appearing when the card is played.

Also amazing job on the theme integration! I remember Dr. K talking about life being a deck-building game, and that’s exactly what I imagined :D

The game feels polished and pleasant to play. I just love it; guess I’ll spend some time playing it and stacking addiction cards in my own life’s deck…

Ah thank you! That’s such a nice message. When I saw the theme for this jam this was the first idea that popped into my head.

Also, I’m so glad you enjoyed the little speech texts that appear on the cursor! Was a last minute addition to give the game a little more life.

Also LOL at stacking addiction cards irl

Really cute color palette and aesthetic, I love the way you combined the elements of the theme to a card game. I will say, I'm not sure how stress is prevented? so I was full of obstacle cards by the end, maybe a tool tip when you hover over the UI elements would be helpful. Either way, great job!

Hi, first of all thank you for trying out our game, I’m glad you enjoyed the visual style.

In case you want to give it another go, the way to reduce stress is to play Wisdom (pink) cards. Players start with one in their deck (Touch Grass) but you can collect more by completing Wisdom (pink) projects. The stress bar will always move forward at the end of a day, but having lower stress will make it move less, and thus give the player less obstacle cards over the course of a game.

The stress mechanics are gone over in the tutorial at the beginning, but I’ll admit that this isn’t the best way to get the information across. After all, who wants to reads PowerPoint slides when they want to jump into a game? I wanted a more interactive tutorial but I ran out of time and went with the slides as compromise.

Adding more tooltips for things like this is definitely a good idea.

Really amazing game. Simple yet with so many different effects and a well thought out concept and end goal.

The music and sfxs were well selected and the art style is cozy and consistent. The game also progresses at a really good pace.

Good job!

Hey, thanks a lot for playing! Our talented artist MysticWhiskerArt actually wrote the song in one day, I definitely should have credited her 😅
