Really neat little idea, good take on the theme, lots of well designed levels, and I especially liked that moving Ghost mechanic.  A bit of nitpicking- there were levels where you have to die a lot and you are set back to the beginning of the level so you have to make your way through the level bit by bit, bone by bone. I like this concept, but I think if there was a checkpoint somewhere in the middle of the level that could update the spawning position of the player then they wouldn't have to go through the same motions of completing the early stages of the level again and again, I think that could improve the flow of things a bit.  I also encountered a small bug- sometimes the bone would spawn on top of me after I died instead of where I died and it would prevent me from moving forward but gladly there was a respawn button to help with that.
Overall, really nice entry, I think it's scoped really well for a game jam and manages to be exactly what it was meant to be.

Thanks for the constructive criticism! Maybe I should have added a checkpoint for longer levels. I specifically added the restart button because i was lazy to debug the issues lol. I know how the bone glitch may totally reset the player's progress and I'm really sorry for that. I'm really grateful for the feedback and for playing the game <3.

Cool game idea — I always enjoy this kind of style! The level design is really nice too. The only issue was a bug that made things quite tough — sometimes when I died, a bone would spawn on top of me, forcing me to restart the game. Still, congrats!

If you have a moment, I’d love if you could check out mine too! Play it here: https://kaijota.itch.io/graverun

Nice game. The core idea is really good. I think the difficulty ramps ups too quickly and ut would be great to have variable jump height.
The level design was on point, and the character feels really responsive. Good job.

Please rate our game if possible <3.

Thanks for playing the game! I thought it would be a good idea to introduce a enemy type first and combining it with the previously existing traps , enemies at the next level. Should have made the enemy introductions at the first series of levels and combined them at later levels. I will check out your game :). Thanks for the feedback!

Good golly did i enjoy the bone gimmick for the platforming! It such a neat idea, like a reward system for dying. This was such a fun experience, thanks so much for sharing. My team actually made a platformer to so we'd love to hear your feedback if you have the time! :) https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3933344

Nice little game, with a fun gimmick!
I also made a platformer, but the art and style in this game is way more charming and playful.
I had a bit of fun but I did get stuck in a few spots before eventually beating the game.
Solid work for a 4 day jam, thanks for sharing! :)

Thank you for playing the game! The artworks were taken from various artists in this site , so any credit goes to them <3. Yeah , the bone may make the character immovable, really didn't think through with the decision of making the bone a rigid body lol. Thanks again for going through this mess XD.

Ah, don't be too harsh on yourself. I thought the bones flopping around after you died was more fun than it was problematic. But I feel you, I didn't have much time to playtest everything either. But it's only 4 days, and getting familiar with the different physics objects in Godot takes a bit of time 😅

Nice  game! I might be wrong but it looks like godot, my game uses godot aswell you check check it out its more narrative based and i had a team.

Developer

Really cute game! Design is great, movement is smooth, and I like that me dying is not an issue but an advantage because I usually suck at platformers haha. Thank you for this little experience

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the design and flow. I’m happy to hear dying worked in your favor this time XD.

Fun little platformer! I like that the bones had some physics when they dropped. Made planning my deaths more fun. Great work!

Developer

Just trying out the rigidbody node in godot . I'm glad you had fun :)

Really cool idea, looks and feels great, but I did encounter a slight issue. Sometimes when you die a bone spawns inside your body after you respawn and you cannot move. Needed to restart a couple times because of it.

One the second level I also didn't realize I could jump on the platform next to the spikes so I thought I had to die 30 times to stack bones lol.

Developer

Yep , I know about the glitches and the bad tile placements .I was lazy to debug the issues,  instead I added a restart button lol. I'm sorry you got to go through that. Thank you for taking your time to play this game <3.

This was actually super fun and well implemented! The level design was well crafted too and it felt like a really good precision platformer. Really cool game!
