Ah, I didn't mean to make you withdraw from the jam. I hope it is a decision that you don't regret.
I played further, but I wanted to point out some things:
1. there is "broken" picture behind Bella all the way during gameplay.
2. when i chose not going to the party, I see "game over", then i reloaded from last save, then the background was many animating halloween pumpkins while bella was in her sleeping room. when she went to the door, then it was correct bg.
3. The wait time between rooms is too long. I counted, and it is about 10 seconds... is it possible to make it 1 second?

No trouble whatsoever. I'm more interested in keeping the game user-friendly than winning any JAM.

#2, you're saying that the scene didn't exit correctly, and Bella was still in the scene during the pumpkins?
You're hitting on my number 1 complaint with your #3. The pumpkin's jumping is 6s by itself + footsteps that are about 3s + fade in / fade out. Your 10s is almost spot on. Here's my question to you because, honestly? I have the same complaint. I like the pumpkin's loading screen, but i could half it and it still works, possibly take out the 3s footsteps since the jack-o-lantern loading screen is still there. If you don't mind helping me with those questions then I will update it once more today with the revisions. (Sounds effects included!).
I think this is what umeboshilover meant. It appeared immediately after the knocking. It may be browser-dependent (I'm using Firefox)

Edit: I've got it now. It was a missing Character Variation. It's been correctly added. I'm going to put in the SE subtitle cues and then shorten the load times before re-uploading. It should take me an hour or so.
