I'd love to know more about how you did this. I'm making a CCG atm that is strikingly similar. My discord is HavoK921. Thank you very much

I apologize but, I couldn't replicate that same instance. I do hope that it was a once off. The new version has been uploaded only after i beat the game without experiencing any game breaking issues. please, let me know if i've missed anything or, overlooked something. I appreciate your help through this.
Subtitles for: Sound effects, Music, Voiced Lines
Reduced loading time to around 4-6 seconds - Allowing for a 2 second Jack-o-lantern animation + Sound effects(Footsteps - etc)
Fixed: the box around bella (Missing character variation). Fixed the video's that are supposed to display during the 3 games so that they display -while- the host is talking
adjusted: a few other events that were not in sync with either loading screen/sounds/voice-work
Thank you for the screenshot. I've got that part fixed. I appreciate both of your assistance. I've found a few other places where text isnt removed properly, etc. I'm putting in the sound effects subtitles now and i will give it a quick playtest before re-uploading. Bear with me, and thank you again!
No trouble whatsoever. I'm more interested in keeping the game user-friendly than winning any JAM.
Can you be more specific with #1?
#2, you're saying that the scene didn't exit correctly, and Bella was still in the scene during the pumpkins?
You're hitting on my number 1 complaint with your #3. The pumpkin's jumping is 6s by itself + footsteps that are about 3s + fade in / fade out. Your 10s is almost spot on. Here's my question to you because, honestly? I have the same complaint. I like the pumpkin's loading screen, but i could half it and it still works, possibly take out the 3s footsteps since the jack-o-lantern loading screen is still there. If you don't mind helping me with those questions then I will update it once more today with the revisions. (Sounds effects included!).

The updated build with full subtitles is live now! I ended up withdrawing from the jam so I could re-upload the fixed version, and honestly I’m glad you pointed it out, as it was absolutely the right move. Thanks again for bringing accessibility to my attention; it makes the game better for everyone. Please let me know if I’ve missed any narration spots so I can patch them in right away.
Hi everyone,
I’m having a frustrating issue in TyranoBuilder and could use some help debugging.
- I have a global variable
Key_collectedthat is initialized to 0 in Scene 1. - When the player picks up the key, the variable is correctly set to 1.
- Later, in the same game session, I check
Key_collectedat the jewelry box, but it still behaves as if the key hasn’t been collected — the box shows “locked.” - All variables are global, the names match exactly, and the condition checks use the proper syntax (
f.Key_collected == 1). - I’ve tried isolating the issue in a minimal project, but the problem persists.
It seems like a TyranoBuilder quirk with nested layers or event flow, but I can’t figure it out.
I can provide a minimal project file that reproduces the bug for anyone willing to take a look. Any guidance would be hugely appreciated!
Thank you very much! Adding more direction from npc's is a really good idea. I think between Solwyn and Lakeside Commons its also just "up to you to find it". I will update more npcs to give directions to objections in the next version that I make in the next few days. I will focus on Lakeside Commons more specifically as it holds more quests. With the individual characters stepping up to speak, I will need to look into a plugin or see about writing my own to make it not only just the MC. I hear you loud and clear. Im on it! I appreciate you taking the time to review it.
Encounter rate has been increased by 2.5x. I ran it again and I got annoyed myself and Escaped from 3 fights to hit the bug. I cleared the bug as well, thank you. I had forgotten to set a Condition for the Switch after the fight. I made the Portable Tent apply to the full team, and I took the AI part off the teammates so the player is now in full control. I dropped the starting enemies HP by half *Kormir Forest Troops* because I agree, it was a slog for a starter area. Good eye on catching the "ei" instead of "ie"! I'm triple checking further and then i'll reupload the updated version. I'll need to work on the game recognizing which Actor_Image is being used so it can always call it properly in Text.
I really appreciate you taking the time to give me this feedback! You're right, starting at level 70 was odd. I wanted to give an "already started adventure" feel, but that really took the shine from being able to gain abilities yourself. Each area has 5-6 enemy troops that it rotates through and I should have made plenty more for more rotation. The chests in town is actually spot on for the beginning area. My hope was to not have the player stall and provide them with enough Gold/resources to continue but, I agree with the you fully. I believe that because you don't often play rgps that I will take your feedback with more importance because you're seeing what I am not and I greatly appreciate it! This was my first JAM game and I will take this and grow from it! Thank you again! 🙏
Hey everyone, I’ve taken a lot of the comments I received about the game and worked to make some improvements. I’m currently fine-tuning the balance, but please let me know if you spot anything that might need tweaking or if there’s anything you’d like added. Thanks again for all the feedback so far!
I totally understand. I was beside myself on increasing the steps for each encounter and then torn because I had made the maps too small for large steps in between encounters. I'm very glad that you noticed and called it out. I will adjust the pacing once the judging is complete to slow down the battles. Thank you again!
Thank you for taking the time to comment and i'm really glad that you enjoyed it! Since you don’t normally play RPGs, I’d love to know if anything stood out to you, either something that made it fun or something that could’ve made it easier to enjoy. It’d help me learn and improve going forward. Thank you again, and I appreciate the feedback.
