Hi again Kondiq!

The 0.5.2-alpha-3 version I just released has some very basic UI localization added to it. You can go to the 'General' settings and scroll down to change from English to completely machine-translated UI translations. The quality is quite low, the translations are done by the local models and they are very iffy about the prompted text, resulting in many awkward translations. I will probably look into another solution for machine-translated base files. All the 'rolling tooltips', the entire tutorial and telemetry are NOT translated by ML at the moment because I consider the first too difficult to implement in a nice way (for now) and the latter two because they are too important to be murdered by machine-learning translations.

Eitherway, obviously human translations are what I aim for at the end of the day. I'd very much appreciate if you would like to correct the Polish file, but bear in mind that the structure etc is far from good at the moment, therefore it may be a bit of a pain to translate. The translations are located in GameTranslate/localizations/base_app and they are in the .xlsx file format.

I do plan to implement a nice system for localization in the future, so people can follow & edit the progress easily online. But that may be far off, I have so many other things to get done with this app  before doing that..

Nice. I'll make a manual translation when I have some time, and when I feel like it. I need to be in a certain mood, then the text just flows ;)

Haha, got it. I have the same thing when it comes to writing. If I feel it, it flows, if I don't, I can't get any words out.

Thank you! The translations were updated across the board, so it should now be a better base to start off on.

It's not a base anymore, it's a translation. It's almost perfect as it is. I'd probably use a different wording here and there if I did it manually, but nothing looks wrong or out of place. The only thing I'll think about changing to make it more clear is the name of the option for clicking through, but I'm not sure if I'd think of something better than what's there. I'm astounded how good LLMs can translate.

The only things that aren't translated are the names of modes (Desktop, Attached, Internal), tooltips, and info about telemetry (I see the telemetry texts in the xlsx file, but not in the app itself).

Oh, damn. Really? I did not expect it to be that good. I wonder how well it performs in other smaller languages.

Yes, the modes were deliberately not translated. The reasoning behind that is that I reckon translating these words in many languages would result in awkward translations, and I want it to be easy for anyone reading the forums/changelogs to understand what I am referring to.

The telemetry was purposely left out as well, as I did not trust the internal languages and I wasn't too confident the LLM could get the important information correct either. I'd rather have it translated 100% correctly by a human.

Recently two of my Polish friends told me independently, that LLMs are already good enough for translating most stuff. One of them is a professional certified translator, and he claims he can already run most of the texts through an LLM and only correct some small mistakes. I was doubtful, but I start to believe it. "The future is now, old man."

Yep, it's crazy. I'm not a fan of this new world consisting of AI prompting. It is what it is. If I could have afforded to do it any other way, I would have, but being a solo developer and the fact that I have already given competition 2~ years to catch up while I was licking my wounds - I just don't see any other way..
