Did I understand correctly that the two remaining routes will be completed over time? And given the current speed, it will take about two years?

(+4)

The two remaining routes have been in development simultaneously with the Early Access build. As it currently stands, Kuna'a's route is finished writing and I'm currently writing Aisa's route---since writing is what takes the longest by a Long Mile, the two routes will probably be released much sooner than two years. I anticipate early next year based on where everything is at right now!

The first 4 routes were completed in about 3 years, and that was while balancing my PhD and releasing another game, both of which I am not doing right now LOL. In a recent devlog I talked about how much content I was able to create for the Early Access build without these obligations, so I wouldn't use prior development timelines as an indicator of my typical game development progress!

Thank you for your detailed answer. To be honest, I'm just afraid of a situation like with the game Made Marion, which I fortunately didn't buy, unlike my less calculating friends)

Then I think no one will stop me from buying a finished game in a year. In any case, I'm glad and grateful that you were able to effectively implement the development plan and write regular reports on real work, and not filled with whining that doesn't concern players and buyers. I wish you further creative success!

If you're calling devs updating people on issues during development "whining", that's incredibly rude.

They can talk about their problems as much as they want until they start collecting money. After that, it's just unprofessional. I've been involved in creative projects for many years and know the difference. Look what happened to Restart Heart. To deceive and disappoint so many people, that's really rude.

In any case, as a future buyer, I can express my opinion since the developer has installed such an opportunity after posts. If people keep silent about their opinion, then in the end the developers will have no information at all about the reasons for the problems in promotion. Where creativity is complemented by business, you need to be more serious. The eternal search for comfort from strangers does not contribute to creative growth as much as many people think. Artistic growth is overcoming. Talent must be complemented by hard work, otherwise it will simply fade away.

You really cannot expect an indy dev to have the same reasources as a business. More often than not they are very small teams and sometimes, especially in the visual novel world, just one person.

In these cases your money is not supporting a *business* it is supporting *people*.

So again I'm going to reiterate, they do not have the same resources to continue a project in the face of personal hardships. People can be shady about it, yeah, but calling having to make the choice to open up to talk about why they've slowed down or gone on hiatus or dropping a project "whining" is disrespectful. To the people having to make that choice, to the things they've had to deal with.

Because you keep mentioning specific projects, I feel like maybe you've been let down by a dev or project and take it personally. I'm sorry that's something you dealt with, but I find that painting everyone else with the same brush is kind of callous and unkinnd.

Honestly, I don't see the point in this discussion. I stand by my opinion as an experienced player with 30 years of gaming experience, if the game is free, then the developers can do whatever they want and whenever they can. If this is a product for sale, then the developers need to take responsibility. I worked with people for many years and none of them cared about my health, mood or whether I could do my job as if I had just come from a funeral. They came to me to receive services and they received them. This is professional. And this is real respect for people and your own work. And my work is very creative.

As for one brush, I only ask questions to developers of paid games. I have no questions or complaints about the rest. And I quite often praise them and morally support them.

So let's stop there. In the end, I was addressing the developer, not you. Although it's funny that according to your posts, you've found time in the last three years to accuse other players of various forms of disrespect. And you haven't found time for so-called words of kindness and support for the developers. My posts look much more convincing in this light. Work on your ability to reason and conduct discussions before commenting on my words again.

umm i supported made marion and i am not ~less calculating~ or whatever nonsense you wrote. the game is still being developed, there are frequent updates. i'm not gonna be mad about someone going through hard times, especially when i made the choice to buy it early knowing full well it was unfinished and anything could happen to the creator (death, illness, etc) and no one forced me to do so. also, sorry no one cared about your health or mood at your job, but i do care about developers; especially when burnout is so common and frequent among creatives. an indy game maker is NOT gonna be held to the same standard as corporation or whatever. also, weird behaviour to go through someone's past posts and comments! really odd!
