How does the game fit the theme?
The game fits the theme in two ways.
First the game's theme itself is biscuit / cooking based. You play as a chef fighting through waves of biscuit enemies.
The theme is presented in the gameplay through player upgrades. The player chooses to upgrade stats between levels. The stronger upgrades also have some kind of trade-off, requiring the player to make decisions on whether a better upgrade is worth it (risking it for the biscuit)
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Everything was made from scratch except for the following shader which was used: https://godotshaders.com/shader/pixelated-diamond-directional-fading-transition/

Solid game, music is great for short while but gets quite repetitive after couple of minutes :D I like that there is strategy in such simple mechanics although there is that move towards open chest exploit which made the game quite easy. Great work!

I had a lot of fun playing! I really liked the fact that you had to play with space to win the fights. Great job!
I feel like the lettuce you get every round is a bit over-powered. I could typically avoid chests and fight all the biscuits and the lettuce would cover the damage taken. Also, is there a set number of levels or are they randomly generated? I made it about 35 in and just decided that I'd won xD. The art is cute and charming, and the music is a sweet little chiptune. The little cooking jokes between each level put a smile on my face :). I did find an exploit though: when you move towards an open chest, time passes allowing you to always strike the biscuits first, I can see opening a chest to be considered an action, but not once it's empty. Regardless, this was a delightful little project. Thanks for making it!

Solid gameplay. I love the bit of rogue-lite feeling.
This is truly a great game with a solid strategic aspect. Great idea, very well executed, and really fun, congrats! I don’t know if it’s intentional, but if you reach a chest and keep walking against it (even after it’s opened), it’s possible to ‘skip your turn’ and just wait for the enemies to come to you.I t was useful in the early and mid run, but towards the end it was hard to reach a chest.
Thanks for playing, and yep definitely not intentional haha. The bug is that the chest doesn't actually report that it's empty when you try to interact with it, so the game manager will let you keep interacting with it and stepping the world, even if its empty. Thanks for reporting that!
simple, but i had fun playing!
I really liked the gameplay. The puzzle aspect of this is so interesting, and integrates the theme very well. I also LOVED the unique messages on the load screen and death screen(gives the game a lotta style)
