Gosh, the frustration of this game again...
The bomb minigame was a little slow for me, I think it could be sped up just a bit, but honestly, I really loved it anyway. I really enjoy the continuity with the previous game, it adds a lot of depth to the story.
I had a lot of fun playing, and I hope you had just as much fun making it!
Thanks a lot for playing.... I'm glad you liked it :)
actually the bomb minigame I had made it more slower ...the more slower it becomes, the more difficult to remember ..but then it was too boring as well ...so i kept it at medium speed....
yes, i enjoyed making it ...thanks again :)
I'm very amused at how this story continues to unfold, this was fun and I didn't expect that ending!
After having suffered through the reversed controls in last week's episode, this week was easy to complete the platforming of, with the same level layout and mechanics. The addition of the bomb minigame was perfect to bring more of Dimitri's story to the game.
I do find the AI art in the cover and splash page to be a turn-off, for me personally. It undermines the tone for me, because this game has so much personality and cleverness, which is the opposite of what I expect where AI is involved. And the in-game art has a much cuter snail with much less horrifying anatomy.
I hope we might see more continuations of this story, or of other special Trijam moments. It's always a pleasure to play your Jam games!
Thank you so much for playing again... it seriously makes me happy to hear that you're enjoying the continuing story! I had a lot of fun twisting the ending a bit this time, and I'm glad it caught you off guard 😄
Haha, I see you survived last week's reversed controls.... glad this one felt more forgiving in comparison!
And I really appreciate your honest thoughts about the AI art. That's totally fair feedback. I used it mostly as a time-saver during the jam crunch, but I absolutely get where you are coming from...especially when the in-game art has a different tone.
Thanks again for the kind words and thoughtful feedback.... it really means a lot. I've had a blast making these jam entries and its super motivating to know they are being enjoyed :)
Hahaha I'm so happy you made another! It was cool to see it pop up.
Good adaptation of the previous game, it feels like a solid sequel with the extra bomb mechanics and the slimes. You could have a full game and each of these mini-games as a world or level :)
I noticed that some platforms allow you to triple jump, and some only allow you to double jump: was that by design?
My one wish is that spacebar was jump, and maybe "up" for slime instead of "down".
Epic game :D
Hey, thank you so much!! 😊 I'm really glad you liked it ....
regarding the triple jump, yes, i have made it like that to frustrate the player ....in yesterday's stream i saw Thorbjorn getting frustrated a lot because of that ...hahhahaha
usually i use the spacebar for jump and e/enter for action.....but this time i kept it as up arrow key and down key so that it confuses the player and makes it difficult to play ...
Thanks again for playing and for the kind words! Really means a lot 😄
Nice Sprite of the Snail and the Terrain. Really cool mechanic for the bomb difusial.
Cool that i could only take the Hard Mode ;)
I didn`t like the slidiness of the snail, i think it doesn`t fit to the nature, because snails are usually very sticky.
You could work a little bit on the jump curve of the player character.
Well done, especially if it took you only 3 hours
Thanks a lot for playing.... I'm glad you liked it :) ... ya the gliding was to make it HARD .....snail is slimy so it glides :P .... this time it took me less than 3 hours because most of the game mechanic is taken from my last jam entry "Sir Quackamore" ....only the bomb scene is a new one.
Nice concept and lore, and once I figured out you could triple jump, the platforming was solid. Removing all progress off of a single rat mistake seems excessive though.
Good luck in the jam
Thanks a lot for playing.... I'm glad you liked it :)
