Great game! Everything works together really nicely and is really well done. Audio is really good. The feeling of being backstage with the see through is neat.

I whish acts would be checkpoints cause that made so much sense, it's the perfect time to have one. Right when it gets too tedious to redo everything. Also small detail: The ♾️ in the logo does not really work, I think painting the full O  in bright yellow (no shadow) then keeping the shadow on the bottom of the N (second O) would make it read more like ON.

Great job!

This is a really cool setting/theming for a game. The backstage crew is really the most interesting part of a production, so a puzzle game involving that has a lot of potential. I like all the charm you’ve added, too - the actors’ personalities, commenting on the dodgy script, etc. It’s very fun. I like the music a lot, too - great medieval vibes, and the way the character cue instruments integrate into it is awesome.

I think the gameplay itself could be improved. The puzzles are never all that complex, and often boil down to the game telling you exactly what to do, or just kind of guessing. This isn’t the end of the world, since the game is mostly about the story and setting… but if you get something wrong, the game makes you do the entire thing again, which really takes me out of the immersion. (There’s also a bug of some kind where if you do everything too fast, the game gets confused and stops showing you the instructions… so you can’t even speed through it after a failure.) I would suggest making the puzzles a little more engaging - there’s a lot of material in this backstage crew setting - but if you’d prefer to keep it simple, at least don’t punish the player so much for turning on the wrong light one time.

Nice work overall, a very cozy entry!

Played it now and loved it to death. Succeeded at Act 1 on my first try, just wished the end of Act 1 was a checkpoint so I wouldn't have to do the whole thing again, lol. Maybe you could add that in a patch? Either way, really creative take on the theme, one of my absolute fave games of the jam so far.

Oh, and if I was going to be pedantic I'd say that the fact that it stops when you make a big enough mistake kinda contradicts the name of the game 😜

Have to check this out now. I went to contemporary circus school once and watching Mark play this reminded me of our gruelling rehearsals and having to remember what to do and when, lol. Will definitely check this out!

really really cool game. probably the most interesting concept i've seen on here, really well executed, love the idea of running around behind the scenes making a live show function. like the last guy said, checkpoints might be a useful touch, as i couldn't personally find the strength to go through it all again, but what i did play i really enjoyed, and the art is gorgeous, and the sound design is really well done, some bits are a bit loud, but honestly, its just stunning, the flute syncing with the room audio, really really cool touch. amazing submission, just really special stuff. thank you <3

Saw this on stream as well, and found it interesting.

I like where this game is going, but I'd still preferred that it had checkpoints - i.e. we just return to the start of the current act, instead of playing the entire thing again and again. The game rating must go on, after all. :)

Still, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Cheers!

Saw this on stream and had to play it to see to the end -- I mean the show had to go on, right? What a creative idea and I loved having to use logic to deduce which action to take to continue the script. I can see it using more feedback to communicate each failure state better. I absolutely loved the pixel art, lots of personality went into each character. All in all, fantastic work!

and yes we did the best we could with our limited time but we thank everyone's suggestions on how to improve the game even further

So creative and so well done! Kudos to the art and music, I loved every bit of it. Just wished the instructions were a bit clearer at first, it took me a while to understand what I had to do because I don't have much experience with stage plays.
