I unfortunately found that boost didn't function if the cursor was at the edge of the screen. That said, I enjoyed the concept, and the game both looks and feels great.

Developer

I recognised that bug too, but only after the submission period ended. I added space to the control scheme in a later version, but alas, it was too late. Thank you very much for playing, and next year I will do better.

Cute and polished game (: I always like to see the theme a little more represented in the gameplay and not only in the narrative. But this is only my personal preference.

Developer

Thank you so much. I initially wanted the player to loop around and have enemies collide with each other, or have it where you make loops to kill them, but I had no idea how to do it. I will improve, and I really appreciate your feedback.

I wish there was more contrast between the background and certain elements like the text and cursor, made some things very hard to see. The gameplay was okay, but I wish I could do more than fly around. Making loops around enemies would have been a good way to tie in the concept, but otherwise I feel like the theme was very loosely followed here. Nonetheless, good job getting a working project published within the time limit!

Thank you very much for the constructive criticism. My idea was to have you circle to lead enemies into each other, but I wasn't able to implement it. And I am aware of the contrasting issues (an oversight on my part), Ill do more playtesting next time. Thank you again, I'll do better next year.

I believe in you, friend!

Really cool submission! The art felt really cool and smooth, nice job!

Developer

Thank you very much, I was really excited to take part after watching the series for the past 4 years.

The artwork for this game is nice and it works well as a replayable jam game! The audio is super loud though and the cursor kinda blends in with the background but aside from that nice job!

Developer

Sorry about the cursor-contrast issue. Also, the audio is way too loud, I realise that now. I'll add volume sliders in my next game. Thank you for playing.

Really cool simple idea. It's the sort of arcadey game that really needs a bit more juice, some extra mechanics and maybe some background music. A couple different enemies, some way to remove enemies, I kinda like the flying in loops and not having weapons so maybe the enemies could get confused and crash into each other or something like that (although that idea definitely needs workshopping and testing) and a bit of juice and you could have a great game, but even without that this is a very solid submission.

*EDIT there is background music. My headphones weren't working. I just assumed you didn't add it sorry"

Would also love it if you could play my game and let me know what you think!

Developer

Thank you for your advice. Your game was excellent. I will improve mine. Have a great day!

Not bad.

Fairly minimalistic concept but enjoyable.

One problem I noticed is that a large ball of enemies will catapult individual enemies outwards at high speeds, probably due to the collision interactions. Surprisingly that made it a little bit more fun, even if somewhat unfair, because it added variety to the enemies.

A second enemy type with different behaviour would have really elevated the game.

I'm on it. Thank you for playing!

quintessential arcade experience, feels like it could be really compelling with just a bit more mechanical juice. you can rapidly click the boost button to get all of the speed even at 0% fuel so I was able to live for quite a long time! high score 5882

Developer

Thank you so much. I'll fix the oversight and add more juice with more involved mechanics. Thank you again.

Developer(+1)

5882! You're better than me at my own game. I can't get more than 2.5k

Nice concept! I liked the overall feel, but I wish there was a way to fight back since the enemies crowd you pretty quickly, which can feel a bit overwhelming. Still, good work overall! My best score was 406.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. I'll definitely work on the game some more, my idea was to have enemies crash when they hit each other, or the player being able to drop bombs, but I didn't have enough time. Thank you again!
