I liked this game, the music was cool and atmospheric and the shrinking and growing mechanic was cool. I had no idea what to do though.
I found the too doors and the thing underneath and figured out I could bring it back up to the top but once I was there had no clue as to what to do. Not sure if I'm stupid or not, but it was a cool base and a cool idea.
If you could play and rate my game as well I would really appreciate it.
Really cool little idea. I love the changing gravity mechanic and the music and sound effects are really great. I do think the character feels a bit sluggish and the controls go weird around the corners. Also depending on where the enemies group up early on it can leave you doing nothing but sitting on the other side of the screen to them which I'm too impatient enjoy. Really solid submission!

Love the game. Really fun retro aesthetic as well as great music and sfx. Very creative controls with have a very rhythmic feel to them. Only real problem I saw was that there isn't really any reason to fill out your bar with weapons, since it loops back to the start as soon as it hits empty space. The crossbow is really strong so not much reason to use anything else since it just means your crossbow fires slower. Ignoring that trying to place yourself to hit enemies with the different weapon types is really fun.
Would love it if you could check out my game as well and let me know what you think!
Cool Idea very well executed for such a short time span. I really liked the music, the patterns were very cool to look but it got really hard really quickly. The art and the sound effects were minimalistic but effective and enjoyable. I think a smoother difficultly curve might have been better but maybe bullet hell pros prefer this.
Would absolutely love it if you could check out my game as well and let me know what you thought!
Really like the art and music. The jump is very satisfying and has a lot of potential. Some kinks to work out around the game feel (bumping the corners of ledges feels bad etc) but it's a very enjoyable, novel movement system. I can see long levels where you build up a lot of momentum with the spacebar being really really fun. Great Submission!

The plan was originally that there would be some kind of rating system. So if you pass the level you get 1 star, if you do it in under x loops you get 2 and if you do it in under y loops you get 3 stars. I had stuff to do on Sunday so I didn't have time to add that before the deadline but that was the plan. I think that's better than a max number of loops because even people like my parents who have never touched video games can make it to the end, but I do agree that without something pushing players to do it in less loops the game feels incomplete.
The graphics are not something I'm proud of but I'm not very good at presentation yet, and wanted something that was a bit more than just shapes and colours. I also thought it would be funny to contrast a morbid name like "Climbing on Corpses" with a very goofy cartoony aesthetic.
Anyway, thank you so much for your feedback!
Really cool simple idea. It's the sort of arcadey game that really needs a bit more juice, some extra mechanics and maybe some background music. A couple different enemies, some way to remove enemies, I kinda like the flying in loops and not having weapons so maybe the enemies could get confused and crash into each other or something like that (although that idea definitely needs workshopping and testing) and a bit of juice and you could have a great game, but even without that this is a very solid submission.
*EDIT there is background music. My headphones weren't working. I just assumed you didn't add it sorry"

Thank you! I'm glad you approve of the sound design. Presentation isn't my strong suit but I had fun making all those sounds.
I did know about that glitch but I ignored it because it wasn't game breaking. I actually figured out why that was happening yesterday while cycling to work and I've fixed it now so I'll upload a fixed version after the jam.
I like the start, it was funny. I think the idea of being on a set track is cool, has some real potential. Needs some more complexity to be fun though I think, although obviously that's hard to do in a jam. Maybe different tracks to jump between or powerups or changing how health works. Currently quite slow just waiting for the yellow track to show up, but definitely a lot of potential here.
I haven't played that many jam games yet but this is my favourite so far and it doesn't even work lmao. I love the idea, (I'm a big fan of osu mania and the gameplay of this is just that with one extra thing) the presentation is great, the bad news is funny. The music is genuinely great. I was still pretending to play the second half until it wouldn't progress because I was enjoying it so much. Got such a high score in my head lol.
Will definitely revisit this in a week when you inevitably upload a working version!
Really cute little game. Liked the art a lot. The idea is simple and has a lot of potential. The star was quite hard to get to actually hit enemies and I felt like it was way more effective to just hit them. Maybe spawning more enemies at a time or making it grow when it's going faster could make it easier to hit enemies and more fun to use. Could really do with a little 8 bit tune in the background. The window was also tiny on my monitor and there's a setting in Gamemaker that allows people to resize windows so I recommend using that in future. Overall really good work.
