I played this for way too long. It's so cool. I did manage to finish it!! The crafting progression was very well thought out. The worst dive was by far the one for the lamp piece, after many attempts I barely made it out 🥵 Great game!
Wow, congrats on actually finishing it! I'm well aware that it is quite long. Yeah, the lamp orb is pretty tight timing wise, I tried to make it slightly easier by adding a few water streams to speed up the way to get there, but I didn't have enough time to redesign the whole part. It also suffers from a rather harsh brick wall (the fact that you need the knife and pickaxe items) that is only apparent right at the end.
Yeah that also made it pretty hard to find - I avoided grinding for that spot until I'd exhausted every other location! When I first saw the kelp/rock combo I had thought that when I had the flippers they would work like the air tanks and always be equipped (which actually it probably wouldn't break anything at that point if they were?). The overall grind was long but also rewarding - I think that section is the only bit that super stands out as needing rebalancing. It's pretty well paced once you figure out where to get everything!
Hey cool concept and good execution, if I were to give some feedback I would increase the starting time what you can dive as it feels like it is set to be barely enough. I would also make that the same button that jumps can be used to swim upwards. Good job either way!
Love the retro aesthetic! The sounds and textures complement each other really well. Hoewever I wasn't able to find the item neccessary to craft diving can. Would be nice if there was some kind of map, because while I really like the water current mechanic, it sometimes makes it impossible to escape and losing all your resources really sucks (maybe making it so you only lose 50% of them could fix the issue). I also like that you made so that unlocked items persists between plays! Very few, if any web games make use of that.
This game feels like a terraria inspired game. I would like this game to be in the top 20 games
This is such a cool game, I could have played it for hours. What an interesting take on the Looping concept. Really great stuff :) Let us know what you think if you wanna check out and rate our game, we'd love to here your feedback :)
Nice game , like a retro subnautica , congrats. quite difficulte at the begining and very punitve, but addictive ! great work.
Great game very complete ! It's like a tiny Terraria game . Congrats !!
Thanks! I've actually thought about what it would take to turn this into something like Terraria as well, the system I used here does support destroying everything in the map (I just ended up using it sparingly). Building things or randomly generating maps however are far more resource intensive (I couldn't just use 1 bit per tile) and probably beyond what the GBA can handle, but it might just be possible to get something fun going, who knows.
Nice game! I had fun exploring, looking for materials, and guessing how the map would open up as my equipment improved. It's really impressive how much content you were able to finish in the game jam!
It's incredibly complete. I managed to get the iron boots but after playing for 40 mins, I had to go to bed. If I started playing this in today's morning, very likely I'd spent the whole day :-D
