Great concept, but I didn't enjoy the micro management aspect of it.
Unique concept! props for thinking outside the box with the theme. This is a decent foundation for a game as it gives you plenty of things to engage with as far as mechanics goes. I have two big categories I think would greatly improve the experience and make it excel:
Compelling motivation
Players want to play for a reason. It's extremely hard to keep players engaged with your game unless they have an interest in playing it and playing it well. This really boils down to which of the 14 forms of fun you're targeting with your gameplay. In your case you seem to be targeting intellectual problem solving in the form of optimization. Other examples of what this would look like is giving the player a goal they are striving for, like some location to reach. If that goal is simply to keep the little dude alive then you've gotta make people care about that little guy more than anything else in the game. You should make him adorable, lovable and anything else you can do to get players attached. I'm rambling but the gist is: determine what is compelling about your gameplay and lean into that hard
Player feedback
That leads me to player feedback which I think would be the quickest and easiest way to take this idea up another level. Make it trivial for the player to always understand what's going on. For this game that would mean centering the most important elements more clearly. Move your current amount of money so that it's front and center in big letters because that's an incredibly important piece of info. Instead of having the player increase speed gradually over time, making it hard to notice: stair step the increase and add effects to telegraph to the player when the speed increase happens. Anything that helps to more clearly communicate to the player the current game state is a win in a fun hectic game like this.
That was a lot and I hope you don't feel like I'm being hard on you, I'm writing so much because I see the potential! This game has a lot of polish and an intriguing premise, so you should be very proud. Great work, keep it up!
Probably one of the most creative ones I've seen! A great foundation for something bigger.
cool game I like it
This is fun!! It took me a few tries to realize that this mf starts running faster the longer it goes on lol. Managing the camera controls while they're bolting off was tricky!
A very strange and mechanically interesting game, make me remember the age old field runner strat. I wonder if the store front really fit the theme, but I guess of ever growing and dying store chain kinda fits XD.
super solid game idea, was quite fun and quick to get into! Could be cool to add camera following to the character potentially combined snapping for new tiles (if the camera becomes a problem)
preatty cool idea i liked
This is a creative idea, but the starting budget is not really enough since the character starts moving really fast, there's no indicators of the speed of the character or the multiplier though. I did enjoy the game, that's great for 2 days!
Hey, thank you for checking out our game! This was a fun idea, and I really liked the look of your game. Man, that little guy starts to move FAST though lol.
Thank you so much for the feedback! i will do some polish on difficulty after the jam
A very fun game, need to let u to think strategies to make a loop. If there are some screen shoots , I think there will be more ppl to play!
Thank you so much for the feedback!
i completely forgot about screen shots
i will put some now
Interesting and unique take on the theme! I found it pretty hard because of the distance between clicking things but also that might be because I don't have a middle mouse button to move around properly :D Perhaps a normal left click drag on the map would make things easier. Good job on thinking outside the box for you game mechanics though.
Thank you so much for the feedback! i also do not have a mouse and the debug version had the ability to do a auto camera move, i wished that i didnt delete it
Very nice game
But why u not take screenshots
Thank you so much for the feedback!
i will put some now
Really cool idea and super creative! It was a bit too hard for me, clicking as fast as you can on the right things. Although I did play quite a few loops ;)
Thank you so much for the feedback! i will do some polish on difficulty after the jam
Interesting concept, reminds me of some kind of hotel building game. However, I think it's a bit too hard the fact that you have to sell stuff at the back, switched between the options at the bottom, scroll your screen, and precisely placed the buildings at the front. All very in a very short amount of time. It would need a bit of tweak to make it less tedious, but overall, well done!
Thank you so much for the feedback! the original idea had you turning back some there was some time you did not have to sell but i ran out of time
Really creative way to approach the theme! The pace / handling the camera made it a bit difficult for me, but the concept is really cool :)
Saw that you made the game in only two days, congrats on making it in such a short time!
Thank you so much for the feedback! i also should do some polish on the difficulty as you said!
Very fun game and a very good executed theme here!
Thank you so much for the feedback!
For a first-timer, this was a cute game! It took me some time to get the hang of the mechanics, but I found my groove and was able to keep the lil guy alive for a minute or two. Definitely a more literal take on the theme, but nicely executed nonetheless.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Only making this on a trackpad is amazing. I really like how you incorporated the theme. It's a fun yet challenging game. Considering it's also your first time, you really did well. Overall, great job!
