How does your game fit the theme?
In two ways, firstly you need to constantly loop between two player states and also need to drop clones of yourself that send you back to start of the level each time, forcing you to play the level multiple times before your able to finish the level

This was a bit confusing - how do you switch between the two states? I couldn't decipher the basics, so I kind of got stuck at the first point. It is an interesting idea though, and congrats on your first jam! :D

Developer

Hi sorry about that :/ You just switch states by pressing enter, the general consensus i got from this jam is that i shouldve had a visiual tutorial and ppl had a harder time getting the controls than I imagined! Thanks for the playing and support!

Submitted

Ah yeah, not a problem at all! We all start somewhere, you started with a pretty great concept honestly. I'll give it another pass so I can properly review it before the deadline. Cheers! :D

Developer

Wow thats super nice of you, may I suggest looking at the itch page and How to Play window before trying , because it better explains controls! Thanks again !

I took me so much time to understand so i would have loved to hav a tuto lol, but otherwise great game and puzzle! The concept was unique and fun! Great Job

Developer

Thank you so much, were you able to finish?

Submitted (1 edit)

unfortunately no but i liked it :')

Edit: I got all mixed up lol, yea i did finish your game lol

Developer

Oh thats great! Thanks for playing !!

A really cut puzzle game. I love the clone mechanic and also the artstyle fits just perfect  gj :D

Developer

Thanks so much!

Cool idea!

I think you have a clever take on the theme!

I think the controls and a tutorial would be great. Show don't tell!

I do understand that it's a game jam, but this took a while for me to understand!

Really well done otherwise! :D

Yup a visual tutorial was something I had on the list, just ran out of time, thank you so much for the support

Submitted

Really confusing but I just enter in the how to play scene and I learned that if I press on enter the player changes states. The puzzles are a bit confusing but yeah. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Hahaha! Ya I know didnt realize how vital a visual tutorial wouldve been but I just ran out of time

I’m glad that the page explains the game a bit more. I was a bit confused at first, but I’m glad I got the hang of it. Good work!

Developer

Thank you so much, I am so glad you could eventually get it !

I love the concept, but I couldn't get past the first level! I was a little bit confused by the instructions + the controls. I would love to see more visuals on how to play the game if there's going to be cool and complicated mechanics like what you're trying to do! I'm really digging the artstyle in the thumbnails! :)

Developer

Ya really sorry to hear that! It can be difficult and I so badly wanted to add a visual tutorial but because of prior commitments I had this weekend I just could not get the time to do so, there are images on how to use the clones uploaded on the itch page along with the How to play window, maybe using those two you could give it another shot? XD

Thanks a lot for all this feedback! I am sorry you found the controls confusing because there where so many controls needed It was hard to decide on what exactly, all arrows are being used but the up and down are for dropping clones, I gave the option to use W/S just in case people found it easier to move with arrows and drop clones with their left hand! As for window widths, again apologies for that, I was under the assumption that itch renders just one sized windows for all kinds of screens, and since I ran out of time didn't add window adjustment

Really appreciate the feedback!

Really cool concept. I found the controls unintuitive and a little awkward. I think visuals in the tutorial would be nice to explain the controls!

Developer

Sorry to hear that! I really appreciate your feedback

yaaa great game man

But it is solid and not 😃

Submitted

Really creative idea! Visually great as well! Unfortunately it didn't really work for me, because the game window was bugged and I was only able to see part of the screen.

Developer

I am so sorry to hear that and I really appreciate the positivity as well ! Can I know which browser you were using as it could potentially be a browser issue

Submitted

I was just using chrome

Heyho!
I think the idea is a good one!
Maybe I didn't understand correctly, but would the Not state be able to stand on a Solid clone (that's how I tried to solve the first level)? That's what I understood from the tutorial, but maybe I'm wrong :D
My suggestion  for a game like this would be to include a tutorial level where you show the players where to place the clones, so they could get a feel for how your game works.
Very respectable effort for your first try!
Stay funky,
Dez

Thanks a lot for the feedback, and its actually the opposite, Not is the only thing that can stand on the solid clones, which is what you need to do every time you want to use Not, apologies for it being unclear I did wanna create a more visual tutorial window but had to settle for just text because I ran out of time ! Thanks for playing!

For the first level Mid jump , drop a solid clone between the two platforms that you can use as your own platform ,   complete the level as Not as it can stand on solid clones

Thanks!

I rly liked the idea, but it was a bit too hard for me i must say ;-; How did you come up with the idea?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I am so sorry to hear that! I do understand it can be rlly challenging which is why the game is only 4 levels, I really hope you can give it another shot sometime soon !

Uh the idea came out of nowhere to be honest, a repetitive game loop came straight to my head when I heard the theme, the rest I just thought it would be fun to have a puzzle platformer where you path your own route using unique mechanics, some levels have more than one way to get to the finish which was what I was going for!

Submitted

Ah yes thats a good play. When doing one right answer it can be hard to get the player to go into that right answer haha. I will probably go and sleep for the next days hahaha, but i will come back at some point and re try it!

Developer(+1)

Fair enough, you have earned the rest, congrats on finishing a game for the jam!

thank you thank you hehe, you too
