So um... It's not working. I can't extract almost anything from the zip... at all. I've tried downloading it twice but I can only extract 5 resources (and the folders just nothing in most of them.) The only 5 things I can get are
FoliageData_alvenia, app.info, and sharedassests#.resources: 2, 5 and 9.
Everything else including the executable and download isn't working. I'm going to try restarting my computer and maybe delete this if it works but otherwise... I really don't know.

Thanks for letting me now. I used 7zip to make the archive, maybe this doesn't play so well with standard zip support. I'll update the archive.

(+1)

I updated the archive. Couldn't get a normal zip archive of the game to stay under the 1 GB file limit, so there's a basic installer now.

Thanks. Played it some... It isn't bad so far but I'm not terribly far into it.

Some people won't like the art style... Like Ni No Kuni but retro... though the music is a bit repetitive and grating.

Also just a warning there are almost no tutorials.

Mechanically there are a couple of other issues. The targeting system is terrible. Functional... but terrible. When you are within a certain distance looking at something you get a highlight of where it is... but this is for both allies and enemies and it is all based on movement. Forcing you to be constantly be aware of your formation and try to wiggle just enough to make the target stick. This isn't bad in itself except this is also an issue if you are trying to flank and even sometimes standing side by side.  So yeah... not the best.

Also there are no indications of ranges except for movement. Attack range? Spell range? (Yes the spell says but what does it mean?). One easy solution solves both this and the former entry... but of course it's coding so is anything easy? Anyway... adding a cursor (functioning like movement but not moving the character) to combat.

Also the menus are cumbersome and not intuitive to use and they are too sensitive for analog sticks. Still kudos on getting controllers to work with the game!

Still its a decent game so far if a bit easy, (did die once but that was before I figured out the core of flanking.

Still cute so far and I'm only like an hour in, there looks to be more mechanics I haven't found yet.

Thanks for playing the game! Some things that might help:

During battle, if there are multiple possible targets, you can cycle through targets with the mouse wheel or Page Up/Down or R/T or L/R on a gamepad.

To see if spells, items and attacks are possible to use on a target during battle, there are four icons next to the target list (top left-ish) that show if attacks, item use or spells are possible on the current target.

There's a How To Play button in the menu, but things are explained more conceptually there.

Thanks for the feedback. My next RPG project adresses many of the criticisms regarding the interface.

The game will get a bit harder around hour three or so. I wanted it to have a soft start.

I just arrived at the witches section im really enjoying this game so far im also excited for the optional dungeons im guessing those come later
