Playing with a controller helps with the coordination, but my speed got reset constantly, which isn’t too great if you need to jump over a large gap. I don’t know if it’s an issue with my controller (I have only one so I can’t check with another) or with the game, but the game is very hard to play that way. If I just ignore the speed resetting, it’s a great game! And with the joystick of a controller much less frustrating to play.
[EDIT]: An idea for how to design around the angle could be to either allow the player to turn their camera or to turn the inputs by 45°, meaning e.g. [W] moves up right, [A] up left, etc.

yeah, i believe either your controller has stick drift or the two control schemes are conflicting. i actually had the same problem with my controller's drift while playtesting hah, we just didn't have time to fix it unfortunately. thank you for your feedback!

Mmmh thanks for the thorough report! I guess if we add input detection to disable one or the other, the bug would stop. By the end of the jam period we realized the game is in reality a racimg game disguised as a platformer, so if you collide or move in tbe opposite direction the speed stops to a halt. Which apparently breaks controller support if inputs conflict, we’ll look into it for the future. Thanks!!
