I was reluctant to join this jam because of the generative AI restrictions. Genai for code completion is godsend, especially as I get older and have to look stuff up more frequently. I also like to use it for brainstorming and scaffolding. I work in tech and live between Meta and Google HQs so there's really no avoiding it for me if I want to stay relevant and have a job.

The less restrictions the better as long as everything is disclosed is my preferred ruleset. Unless the restrictions are central to the objective of the jam.

I love dungeon crawlers, starting with Dungeon Master on my Amiga, so I want to support this jam despite the restrictions.

Good luck with the jam!

I'm fairly certain that the rule is about GenAI in the final game, to encourage own creativity and craft. Code completion, grammar checks, brainstorming, etc. should be fine imo.

I think Luke is correct. I’d highly recommend asking for clarification if you haven’t already. The “no gen AI” rule usually refers to in game assets like art and writing, not using code writing tools.
