Use of the limitation
The mystical flute has it's rules. However, they are unexplained, and hence unpredictable, till one experiments with the effects of it's tune.

Thanks!
The movement needs some work. If you jump and move into a wall the player stick to it witch doesn't feel great.
Yep i initially had the player slide off the wall but doing so created a bug where players could slide over edges and hence jump higher than they should.
I haven't managed to solve that problem so the movement is like this for now, sorry about that.
Edit for others that sees this comment: I decided to revert to the player sliding over edges of walls. I realised that sliding over edges would feel like much better movement even if the some puzzles can be skipped this way.
I like the concept, I found it really interesting and the puzzles were well made. The art and sound design were great, I especially liked the sound of the flute. Playing the flute does get a bit tedious at times, but I also like how unique it is as well. Having to learn and memorize the songs is a cool idea. I don't know how well it fits the limitation, as it's not very unpredictable when the game directly gives you the songs, but other than that I don't have any complaints. Well done!
Thanks for the feedback! Glad to know the puzzles were ok, I didn't manage to playtest them during the jam.
I kind of considered "not having a proper explanation for each mechanic" as the unpredictable part, and once someone understands it, the predictability feeds into the rules but I guess its a very different interpretation.
I had a lot of fun with this one! Love the concept of using notes to get around in certain areas. I did skip a lot of the puzzles just by jumping off walls most the time and my notepad did stop working after the 2nd level which was unfortunate. Great job regardless! 5 stars for concept!
Thanks for playing!
Wall jumping wasn't intended at all, I thought I had fixed that but apparently not 😅. I'll also look into the notepad bug, thanks for letting me know!
Update for others: I think the notepad and wall jump bugs are fixed :D
I thought this game was very interesting, I liked remembering melodies to progress through the levels. I think there could be more interesting platforms and terrain in the nice hand-drawn art style you used for the character. Overall, nice work and excellent concept.
