I think what is happening is that the level is being rendered offscreen, unless that is the intent (which would be surprising given no level before or after is this difficult). I am playing on Xbox Series X. I am including a photo of what I see. This is at the start of the time attack. As you can see, I cannot see my character or the alien who I am racing against. I tried going through the level just on feeling but after hundreds of failed attempts, I am thinking maybe something is wrong here. I played the full game on Normal difficulty so thought I should try on Easy mode to see if this changed the level to being visible on screen, and that generated the same result, hence why I am reaching out. Basically, I am thinking no way this level could be designed this way even on easy mode.

You're right, it's not supposed to be like this.
I've checked the Steam, Switch and PlayStation versions and they work fine. This is clearly a bug in the Xbox port.
I'll check with the publisher, as they're responsible for the console versions.

you have no idea how relieved I am to hear this! I sunk HOURS into this game trying to beat this level, thinking it was part of the challenge and this was just a more difficult 2D platformer…
I actually previously went to jandusoft.com and submitted a question about this via their “contact us” and they never got back to me. I am a big fan of your game (see photo) and want to 100% it. Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated. 
Unfortunately, I did not think to take a screenshot when I did this but it was definitely over a month ago. Here is what the form looks like on their site (see photo). I completed it, asking for help, and never received anything (was expecting some confirmation that they received my message but didn’t get anything).
