I should have read the info as I was complaining about stuff not being moveable, before actually reading the instructions! Game is cool, has a nice theme and plan to it, I think you could spice it up with a few more unique tiles (bouncers, things that break, speed ups, wormholes etc….). Other then that, cool entry!

Developer

I would have loved to implement that kind of thing but sadly didn't have enough time :(

Super cool game! The gameplay loop was really fun and addicting and the implementation of the theme was really creative! Overall, great game!

Super cool!  I love a big number game so as soon as I saw the screenshots I was excited to try it.  Everything was super satisfying feeling.  I also liked the twist on the goals that normally are set in these kinds of games.  Typically I notice the goal is in 1 "currency" and then upgrades come from another currency pool (like balatro, your score vs dollars for upgrades).  Making the goal and upgrades use the same currency sets up tradeoffs, where you have to decide how much to bank for the next round's goal vs how much to invest in upgrades.  I do think it's more unforgiving, but I had fun strategizing about it!  One gripe, I had a run where I bought 20 blocks and kept investing in 2x upgrades but never actually got one.  I know that's just RNG but a shuffle bag approach might have been nice because I felt a bit frustrated.  Nice work, excited to see if you develop this further!

Developer

Thanks for the long review! Yep that certainly is an issue (the 2x not appearing at all), and yes I didn't think about that approach, definitely would have been better than what it is now. Might make an update for after the voting ends if anybody still wants to play it, thanks for playing though!

A great game, very polished, but I found that during a round you can buy upgrades, and if you do you may lose the round, dunno if it's a bug, but overall great!

Developer (1 edit)

It's a feature! I can understand though why it might be annoying, but attemping upgrades and buying blocks mid level was supposed to be a risk reward thing. Probably should be removed though to reduce painful losses, but thanks for playing!

Letting go of the blocks in the buy section deletes them

Developer

It doesn't quite delete them, but yes go behind the "buy block" area so you can't see them unless you move the box to show them over there, it is annoying though sorry!
