Naarel has done it again. Man, your writing always scratches my brain in the best of ways. I love how you used the staging and visuals to amplify the narrative. Every little part felt intentional and thought out which made the experience feel very complete. While it may not have been the intention, it did resonate very transgenderly with me and I love the fact that the vagueness of the “You” can lead to a wide array of interpretations. This was so well made, thank you for letting me experience it!
I’d never heard of decker before, and I don’t think I could’ve had a better introduction. Everything fits so well together to create one hell of an atmosphere, and I really enjoyed the uses of side-by-side text to aid the narrative. Awesome awesome job!!
I loved this so much!!! it really inspires me to use decker sometime!!!!
unique entry!! i loved this presentation of the story, immersive and i feel my self hooked to every line :DD
so stunning! decker really has been used to its fullest potential here, and the way everything is staged beautifully through the artwork and the text maximizes each screen. i can’t say i’m a big taylor swift fan but i do feel like you’ve managed to take this quote from her and spin it not only into its own game, but its own full-fledged concept, thought, and philosophy. i also love the detail of the lake being named after the greek twins; what an interesting reflection on (and i sure hope i’m interpreting this right) feeling so disconnected from someone you once were that you form a separate identity – and then, of course, the same commentary on twins being split from the same egg.
of course, i’m by no means an expert on transgender allegory (if that is what this game is about and if i’m reading into this correctly) but i just love how all of the elements of your game piece together in such a perfect way. the art of storytelling has not been lost because you’re carrying the torch!
Oh my goodness I love everything about how this game looks. The transitions, the text, the way it iterates. WOW. idk WOW, you are taking such great advantage of this particular engine to stage things in such clever ways and it makes me want to give it a serious go.
Such a stunning game! I love how you played with the text, moving it, changing it, giving it life. It added such a dynamic quality to the words and the to the idea of words as this tangible thing we can touch and hold and swallow. I think, especially for a game about a poet, the attention to the words is striking. I love it.
Overall, I enjoyed the visuals, the effects, and the story. It all came together in such a captivating way. Great game. Thank you so much for introducing me to Decker! I'm so intrigued by it, and what you've done with it.
You absolutely ate down with the effects this jam, like damn those paper tears were so satisfying. The framing of the story is so clever and has got to be one of my favorite entries from you so far! Your composition makes me want to look into decker too now--like I can make anything half as artsy as this! (´ー`)y-~~
Ooooh I loved this. I'm always such a big fan of your writing, and the way the game was presented felt so good to go through.
I really liked this one!
I was especially impressed by some of the UI work here. Never quite seen a game do things like that before (including other decker games!)
She slayed (herself) </3 (Nice game, the visuals slayed hard)
