Man this game was the most fun I've had with games on this jam. First of all there was that intro with a funny song, and then it suddenly stops and some uncanny shadowy squirrel comes up to me, I was like what is HAPPENning is this supposed to be so uncanny? Then I get the dialogue option "Please don't hurt me" That was exactly what I was thinking, and then I started laughing. And then the game just ENDED RIGHT ON THE SPOT, and all those screenshots of the design really did it for me xD.

It was so fast and somewhat unpolished but this was such a funny experience. I do realize that there is a serious game behind it, and there is actually a foundation for a potential game, but the fact that you guys probably got a bit lost on time for me made this into a gem. Definitely rating 5 stars for "Fun".

I'm glad you enjoyed at least a part of it. I'm not really sure at which point the squirrels become ominous, I swear most of them look cute under proper lighting. It probably had something to do with the palace (the art department) not paying (not having time to) the candle bill (work on proper lighting) in time (before the jam deadline).

I think it's the fact that the music suddenly stops, and a squirrel emerges from the shadows, and stay completely covered by shadows, and it has dark still eyes that stare into my soul.. And then suddenly a dialogue "Please don't hurt me". I guess it was several combined factors.

I like the concept and hope to see it more complete. The art was fantastic!

Developer

Thank you!

Very short, but I can see the vision! Looks like it could be fun with some more content added in.

Developer

Thank you! We'll keep working on it.

Some technical issues with the screen sizes and centering, but still playable by fiddling with the window. Not really sure what I was supposed to do! I kept getting the ending after only three questions.

Art was very nice!

That being said, congratulations on submitting a working entry to the game jam! That’s impressive in its own right :)

Developer

Thanks for your kind words!

Sadly the version of the game we managed to submit is just a concept demo, made to be played on 1920x1080. We're working on updating it into an actual game, although that might take a while.

The screens were not centered on my side except for the credits scene. Otherwise, it looks nice!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, we barely managed to get this concept demo out in time so we didn't really have time for a lot of testing.

Submitted

That's fair. I didn't make myself a lot of time for playtesting either.

Developer

Thank you! Our music guy put in some real effort for these.

My favorite part was when the squirrel looked me in the soul, asked me a question, and in response I said "TEST"

Developer

Haha, sorry for the ominous bard, we'll take care of him in the next iteration of the game.
