I imagine it would be like groping the balls or breast if NSFW, and hugs or a stroke on the cheek for SFW. Head pats on the player would feel weird unless its a large tall character doing it.

I wasn't really thinking much about it as a game mechanic, just that the idea was adorable in my mind. Like you're on this island getting to know the locals and a portion of your time interacting with them is petting them, I could see them interacting with you in a similar way, like when a parent gives their kid head pats for doing something good and the kid does the same back, they learn from the parent even if they don't really know the meaning behind the action.

TLDR:  I wasn't asking for it as a mechanic just sharing random thoughts I had and thought were cute.

Besides we don't have monster girls in real life so I play these kinds of games to live out my desires through them. Also sorry if this comes off as rambling a bit.
