Which versions of the games are jury playing?

In one of the emails I received near the end of the jam, it was stated that we’re allowed to update the game after public voting is over:

And indeed after 6 CET yesterday the block on ā€œedit gameā€ page was lifted and I could update the game (for now with just a couple of bug fixes and a new poster, but was planning a bigger update soon). But I left an original version too just in case. I’ve also seen that some other devs from top-20 did the same.

And this makes sense because I’ve seen how this usually works at other jams for organizers: after the voting period is over and we can update our games, organizers still have original versions of all participants’ games available on the voting page.

But I suspect that for some reason those builds were not shared with all of the jury, as I see now a stream of one of the jury who just plays the current web builds: https://www.twitch.tv/derhauge

Maybe it’s also some special functionality for them, but just wanted to point this out and ask if everything is under control, just in case.

Hi Nozomu, the Jury is playing the current Browser Versions.

Due to fairness we are not updating our build of "Undertable". And we kinda wanna see them QA testing like DerHauge earlier today ^^

Does not seem fair. Especially since it was not even explicitly stated before that updates during jury voting are allowed.

EDIT: To be clear what exactly does not seem fair to me - not the fact that it's possible but rather the fact that it was not explicitly stated from the beginning that it will be possible. Because now for some teams it may be too short notice. I'm actually happy with possibility to answer some small flaws and fix rare but major bug. And looking for other pages I really appreciate that everyone tries to be transparent about changes and keep old version to make sure this inconvenience in jam rules does not impact fairness too much. Well done, community!

I just saw in the stream that we can update our builds—honestly, that’s a bit surprising.
Most of the votes have probably already been cast by now.

I’ll take this opportunity to tweak two aspects on my game based on community feedback.

I think this is weird and editing should be unable until the jam is completely over ._.
