This game is really well rounded and designed in all areas, lighting the level with not only the cube but also with the portals is a great idea. I tend to agree with what the others are saying that it could light a little bit more than it does, but to be honest I really didn't think it was that bad since I can jump to shoot the portal on the ground to see where I would land, and since I mentioned the jump, I feel it didn't really had its use other than for what I mentioned, I didn't have enough space to jump over spikes, and didn't needed to use it to pass the challenges, well, at least the ones I got to on the third level because the respawn was only working on the first level so after a few tries I got tired of restarting all over again.

A few ideas I have for the jump is platforming, I feel it could fit really nicely in your game, now how can you do platforming in such a dark game? How about shooting the portals into cubes that light up a small area so you can see the platforms, or maybe shooting the platforms make THEM light up! There's definitely room for improvement and expanding on the idea. Stick Fight: The Game from Landfall Studios is a great reference for iterating of future challenges, I would say (lasers and stuff).

And I feel like some people are not doing justice about the lack of a checkpoint, maybe they didn't noticed the portals stays up even after you die, so you can use that like a checkpoint, well... assuming you didn't put the portal right above a spike. I feel like this is way better and smarter than a simple checkpoint system. Try making that clear next time! (;

The minimalist graphics & sound FX  and ambient music goes really well together, I think nothing really needs to change about that.

There was definitely something jenky going on with the controls as I lost mouse control two times, and as I mentioned, the respawn only works on the first level. Well, that's how jams go sometimes!

With all that said, I think it's a really cool game with potential if you work more into it. Congrats on the submission!

If you got the time, we would love for you to check, rate and give feedback on our game, thanks!

Absolutely the best comment 😀

With the end of the jam I have updated some bugs, like the respawn in the levels.

You gave me fantasic ideas for the next update! 😁

Unfortunately I haven't logged in on Itch.io for 1 week, so I haven't played your game, I'm so sorry! :(

Good concept and art style but the levels are too dark making the game a little frustrating. And after a while the mouse controls don't work.

I like the graphics and theme you went for.  Particularly how the portals glow and light up the environment.  However, I could not see where to go and kept falling into spikes.  If the game is going to be dark like this a checkpoint system could alleviate a lot of frustration.  Other than that is was fun, with solid controls.

Graphics plus animations all look good.

The control is also smooth.

The only problem is the level is too dark for the player to see what they should portal to.

(Or what obstacles are in front)

And it would be better if there is a checkpoint.

Thanks a lot for the feedback 😀

I will probably add some type of checkpoint
