Really cool showcase of what HexaBody and Hurricane can do in the right hands! You were able to cram in easter eggs too? You are crazy! Really fun experience with a fun variety of different tasks that a super polished. I will say this  though, I super suck at climbing!

Congrats on a great entry!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! Hexabody and Hurrican are great assets that make it much easier to create these types of experiences. I was originally going to make the rock climbing section harder with smaller and narrower rocks but I'm glad I didn't!

I have to say that I loved how you let the player jump the wall at the archery puzzle. It was fun to stab the targets with the arrow rather than shoot them. If this was something you purposely let slip or not, either way, it's always fun for a player to feel smart. Fun Game!

Developer

Haha... of course I did that on purpose.... Lol but actually it's super cool to see what other do people with your game. I'm glad you had fun with it!

Unfoirtunately I coud not play the Game, as there was not input for me :(
(SteamVR - Valve Index)

Developer

Sorry about that! I completely forgot to add other inputs into the game :( I'll make note of this so I don't make the same mistake next time.

I just uploaded an additional build that supports Valve and HTC called (Works with all headsets/ late submission) Test Subject Escape.zip

Let me know if it works if you try it!

Cool I definietly will try it out tomorrow :) Its prettly late at my locale so I have to get some rest first.

I was now able to play the game !
It was a nice little escape, though I think it felt more like a demonstration of HexaBody and Hurricane VR.

The voice over however added a nice feel of escaping to it, that evil man whos trapping you and after promissing you to get out he might just keep you anyways. That was great I bet you could do some interesting stuff with it !

Great! I'm glad it worked! Yea, I wasn't able to add much in terms of gameplay. I spent way too much time trying to perfect the color code and the book mechanics. I originally had 3 panes of glass that you had to put together for the code but found that it was tedious to get them to line correctly. I left the 3 panes of glass somewhere in the game as an easter egg.

You're not keeping me! I jumped the wall with my green egg and got the hell outta dodge!

I like how you kept that hexaball controller stock as is, haha. Really fun to climb all the walls using my index finger strength and the bow and arrow section was fun, wish there was a little more variety but great use of Hurricane.

Developer

Hahaha, I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I definitely wanted to add more to the game but this is all I could manage with the time limit.

Supper cool. I liked the voice. You sound just like Jigsaw in the Saw movie. The climbing was set up nicely. Nothing too hard or too easy.

I did not beat the game and think because of a glitch. I picked up a book that would open. I think the key I needed was in the book and went through the wall.

Developer (1 edit)

Hahaha thanks, I'm a big fan of the saw movies!

There are 2 books on the bookshelf that open.  I think you found the Easter egg book (the yellow one that opens).  There is another book there that you need to check. In hindsight, I should have made that easter egg book not openable (or kept an egg inside the book) to avoid confusion.

I'm glad you enjoyed the climbing part!

Does the apk file work? Haven't had a chance to test it.

Edit: The original apk file I uploaded didn't work. I just uploaded a new one that works called (Works but Late Submission)TestSubjectEscape.apk
