Lovely game!! I included it in my Virtual Pet Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out. :)

Super impressive! The art, music, and gameplay is so polished and wonderful! I had a lot of fun playing and it did take me back to days when I used to play Insaniquarium. I love the story aspect too. Amazing job! <3 :D

I love your graphics, they're so clean and fun!

Also: Bad Jellybean! Bad!

Yeah there's always this sense of horror you feel when you see a cat dipping its paw into the water....

Super polished and good! Didn't get it at first until I got a few fish in, and it honestly gets intense. I pulled out my mouse to make sure I could click everything quick enough haha! Pretty fun, cool graphics, nice intro, and cool polish (evolving music, saving + menu options, the main menu showing your tank).

Piece is mispelled as peice in the intro.

I would recommend putting a screenshot of the gameplay in the screenshots section, so people coming would know it's a game like Insaniquarium instead of only a renpy visual novel. I played for a few minutes, buying a few fish, but got bored with the lack of progression, so it might benefit to speed up the unlocks.

Thanks for your feedback! We pushed a few features pretty close to the jam deadline so you're unfortunately not seeing everything we'd planned for the game- I think it's getting stuck in the first phase after you unlock the ability to buy fish. I believe we'll be working on at least a few fixes in the weeks post-jam, so try checking back later if you're interested.

Damn, this game was amazing! Fun, art was awesome, music was awesome... How tf you make this in renpy???

Developer

Thanks so much!! Glad you enjoyed : )
I'm not super sure lol, Speck is a wizard

The art and music on this are utterly phenomenal, and I'm shocked you were able to pull off something like this in Ren'py. If the game gets expanded, I can imagine sinking hours and hours into this one... aquatic pun intended?

One thing that I noticed though was the bottom of the tank was slightly annoying- if a gem spawned too close to the bottom, it would instantly vanish, and occasionally fish would just swim away from the food, leaving me to just wait for it to slowly despawn before I tried to feed them again. That being said- again, it's astounding to me you got something like this working in Ren'py lol. Amazing game!

Developer

Thanks so much!! I'll add that note to our fix list.

Really great Art, I love the twilight zone and insaniaquarium is one of my favourite games of all time so this really hit home for me !
