Pros:

  • Solid theme: I love the old windows style that is used
  • Crucial windows features: The most crucial features are implemented to make it really feel like a windows machine.
  • Very nice music: The music is very chill and suiting for the game.
  • Window panels: It is very nice to have windows actually pop up and be able move them around and resize them.

Cons:

  • Goal: The goal is clear, but achieving it is either a bit boring or impossible. When i found the file first time and deleted it, it did the usual, clicked on delete, and the are you sure was a nice touch. It is a nice touch that that was not the end but after that, the objective got very fuzzy…
  • Window panel overlays: You had no control over the window panels z-ordering and it made for a very annoying experience once the malware DDos windows poped up as new panels get opened behind it all. It would have been nice if the window that you clicked on would also then take highest z-order over all.
  • Soft lock: you can delete any file, so you can easily soft hard lock the goal of the game. It would be nice to have a trash bin somewhere where you can see these deletions and restore them.
  • No clear end goal state I could not find the end of the game, even though i deleted all versions of time.exe.
  • Lacking time mechanic: the objective is called time.exe, but nothing happens relating to time itself, which was a bit disappointing.
