I like this! It broke slightly on my ultrawide with the tiles, but overall it worked great. One thing that was a bit confusing is that sometimes the clone wouldn't attract the turret even if it was right in front of it!
Very interesting game, although I feel like it doesn't benefit from it's 2.5D aspect. Maybe its just my skill issue, but the camera angle often makes it harder to comprehend whether the turrets will actually shoot you or not. Also, many things seem to be highly bugged, especially the turrets. Sometimes they ignore your clones, sometimes not. Sometimes they dont have an animation when they shoot, sometimes they have double their sound etc. Anyway, its a really creative idea and a very solid game, I just think you should fix the bugs to make the game easier to understand for the player. Also I really like the tutorial, explained the mechanics well, although I feel like the interaction mode isnt really needed in this game, it could be just always enabled and not much would changed, just the fact that you don't need to press space to enter it. The controls are a bit wacky, the pressing shift to summon (twice?) is a bit weird, but after some time it gets ok. So all in all, good job, just needs some polishing to make it more fun.
A very well explained game mechanics, it is incredible that you can act with two characters in the game, I encourage you to add a Title in your title UI, some graphics related to your game and it may be help a brief history about your main character. you have the play button implemented, but you can add a settings button to adjust the volumen and light in the game, and a credit button where you can show the creators assets that you used in your game. Great job!!
amazing work! c:
The filter makes the text sometimes hard to read, the turrets sometimes shoot through walls or don't focus your summons and instead just kill you straight up, the choice of buttons is weird (space + shift/ctrl twice to summon). I couldn't get to the end of the game because it didn't feel that good playing it overall, i can tell a lot of work went into this but to me it feels clunky and unpredictable, and i don't particularly like that. Dying from a turret shooting through a wall was quite frustrating in particular. With just a bit more time and polish, this game could've been a lot better in my opinion. Still an interesting idea and artstyle nonetheless.
sup, i dont exactly know what you mean by shooting thru walls. The game was meant to simulate a 3d environment, that's why you can go behind certain walls like pillars or bottom of a room. Those areas are meant to be walkable and shootable, the perspective here can be deceiving given its a 2d game.
about the controls, yeah they suck. In fact so much that you can periodically save yourself a copy of the itch.io page when trying to summon a clone and go down at the same time.
cheers, piotrek4!
