Cool idea!  The amount of 'noise' I made felt pretty abstract, maybe a meter of some kind to show how close the baby is to waking up would give the player some feedback on how they're doing.

Developer

We tried to make some feedback with 4 different faces of the baby on the hud. Maybe it's not enough. In addition we had another graphic like an alert for when you are up to lose, we ran out of time and we couldn't add it. Thanks a lot for having played the game and for your comment!

Really cool take on the theme and a really interesting game. However, I have a few things that I think could make the game better.

1) The player didn't feel that fun to control. I get that the player is supposed to move slow, but in a game like this, it felt a little boring. It didn't help that the camera was constantly hitting objects, making it hard to even control what you're looking at sometimes (maybe have a 1st person camera instead, or instead of the camera colliding with objects and moving in front, make the object see through when the camera is in it?). I think a faster player controller along with some trickier and more interesting obstacles could've made this game better.

2) Music. I'm not gong to lie, I thought that this game really needed background music to sell the atmosphere. There are plenty of free assets you can get off the internet for this, and it would've made the game much more enjoyable. There also should've been a couple more sound effects for things like the cats.

3) It was too short. I know you've probably heard this a lot already, but the game is just too short to really get a full experience, even for a jam game. Adding something like multiple trips to and from the toilet, or, since its already a silly idea, adding something just as silly like a boss fight against the baby where the baby throws things at you and you need to give it it's pacifier while dodging a bunch of stuff (yes I know this is unrealistic in a jam). I thought that the concept wasn't quite explored enough, but, that's what happens in jams sometimes.

Overall, I thought it was a cool game. Great concept, the graphics were great, and the sound effects that were there were well done. The game may have been short, but I enjoyed what little I got to play.

Developer

Thank you! About the music, was intended to not use music during gameplay, focusing on silence and braking of those silences with fallings, and some ambient noises to make it more tense. And for duration, we thought about it also, but it was hard to balance between a larger gameplay and tha fact that the player needs to get to the toilet because turtle is comming. So if the gameplay it's too long, this concept of alarm gets a bit on a second plane. However, objectively, and out of this, it's in fact a very short experience. We may try some improvements to make a better experience and try to add some more obstacles or a larger house or something... and test it with people. About the camera, you're right, for the jam we couldn't get a better configuration of the cinemachine with those objects that are so close (intended, for making you hard to pass through), we will work on that too.

Thanks again for having played the game and for your constructive comments!

For the music, even just an ambient track would add a ton to the atmosphere. It doesn’t have to be much, just some ambiance is necessary at least. And for the length, I get wanting it to be short, but that was just too short imo.

Artstyle is top-notch. And the game concept is really something! :) I love to see the ideas that come from game jams, yours include :) Thanks for submiting

Game is very unique. It was fun to play. I want able to open the door in my first plat there was no indication to press 'E' key so i assumed it was locked. On my second play i falled twice with nothing infront of me so you might want to check your colliders for that. Other than these 2i game was good. A bit more sound for cats and dogs. Also a bgm would have helped, it is my own thinking though it is perfectly fine without them but i think gameplays feel empty without sound no matter which game.

Sorry for the long comment, TLDR; it was fun and unique. couple of bugs to crush.

Developer

Thanks for the constructive comment, for real! And for having played it :)

Awesome visual! “Turtle” indicator such a funny idea) Sad that it was so short..

Developer

Thank you! We thought on making it a bit longer... but if you really need to go to the toilet, you cannot be much time on the way hahaha

Very unique and funny idea. Cool UI! Cool camera movements. The graphics are very aesthetically pleasing:)

I am a little confused as to how to read the baby's status and the turtle status, and whenever I failed, I don't really understand which part of what I did caused this. Also, a suggestion is to add some sound effect when tripped and fell, it'll be so funny haha (although I understand there's time pressure)

Developer

Oh, but there was a sound when falling.  Maybe it's broken, I had to look at it. And when you lose, there are different game overs, one for the turtle releaased, other for winning and one for waking up the girl. Time goes on so turtle is showing his head. For baby waking up, all sounds and lights make it worst and face of baby will chane to angry (there are 4 faces befor lose). Thank you for your comment!!

Unique take on the game play of this. Great work on the graphics and the sound for the game. The falling animation did not sync up with the environment and it appeared i ran into things that I was not that close to as well. Look forward to what other enhancements you could make to this game. The UI was well presented along with the character images and the dialog boxes as well.

Developer

Thanks a lot for your comments! Yes, the falling animation has some problems detecting the floor, we are working on it and some more bugs... we really ran out of time

Really funny take on the theme, I don't think its dark enough to really even need the flashlight though

Developer

HI! Thanks for your comment! Yes, you are right, there's some light on the environment but we started without any light but the flashlight, and it was too dark and you couldn't see the animations so when you were falling, you couldn't see it, and that made you lose without knowing why, and could be frustrating. We need to keep working on balancing those two things to make it better :)
